A 356 or a kit 356? If a 356, it is distastefully modded. Ugly rims. That thing did not come out of Zuffenhausen that way.

Here's a proper '56 356:

TBH i didn't want to come right out and ask if it was a kit car. I asked him what year it was thinking it was a more subtle way of asking, but when he told me a 1956 i just took him at his word.

btw - yours is incredible.

cheers

Not mine, but there are many like the one I posted around. There are also some kit cars nicely done, looking period correct.

OMG that black one is simply amazing. And the less said the better on that other one. Those ugly Fuchs replica on a 356 is a strict in my books

Had the plastic front lip hydro dipped and clearcoated, looks like carbon fiber now.
Had the tint redone properly and had the clear windshield UV protectant film installed. Need both of those down here in the summer.

I wanted to see how the lip turned out, so im going to have them do the plastic between the exhaust tips as well.

Next on the list, i just ordered some H&R springs. I want the car to have a stance that more closely resembles cars with Sport PASM, so these springs will reduce front height by about 1.25 " and rear by about 1", closing the gap in the wheels wells a bit. I will have those installed and a realignment done in a couple of weeks.

Then im pretty much done until i upgrade the escort 9500ix to the concealed unit later in the summer when my wife has forgotten about all these bits

cheers

Before dismissing outlaws, take a look at Dan Rowzie's outlaw in the PCA Potomac monthly. See if you can spot the flared fenders. It now has a 200 HP four converted from a 911.

if that 356 is a 1956, it is very much not original - wrong tail lights, wrong wheels, I don't remember a wood steering wheel or silver paint either - I have an orignal coupe, all serial numbers match, etc, I just can't imagine making it look like a cheezy adolescent fantasy.
