Open campaigns on the 991
#16
Thank you for the suggestion, there was a mechanic named Charlie (can't remember his last name) in BH that I used to take my 993 to many moons ago, excellent mechanic, think he is a shop foreman there now, he doesn't work on cars himself. Anybody has experience w/ Rusnek in Pasadena ?

I also got the letter about the AC. (Mine is a dec build, feb delivery). Took mine in on Friday for 3 campaigns: AC, seals, and control units. My dealer is Circle in Long Beach. They've already done the seals on a couple of 991s. They estimated 3-5 days.

Wanted a red Panamera GTS or at least a Cayanne S for a loaner. All I got was a lousy Audi Q5. Ok, its better than a T-shirt.

I was actually thinking of replacing my Infiniti G35 with a Panamera. Now I am thinking Q5.
Hell if I am getting a truck with a liftgate it might as well seat three in the back. And the sunroof opens about 6 feet. Take that, short sighted Porsche dealer!

Q5? Not Cayenne?

My service adviser is Alberto. They are a small family-owned operation and as far I can tell, he's the only service adviser on staff.
So far, they have been great to deal with. I'll post a follow up once I collect my car...

campaign(s) update
Update. Dealer did "software update on control unit" whatever that was, and is in midst of replacing both AC pipes - which had evidence of leaking. So it is supposed to go to body shop tomorrow for front seal replacement. Means that they will not hav car for 3 days as originally estimated- more like a week.
They will trade the Audi Q5 loaner for a Panamera for the duration. Small compensation, but I sure don't want the job rushed, so will just have to suffer
PS The Audi is a decent crossover with good room. The torquey Audo 2.0 turbo has adequate power with just me in it. I always thought these were just tall A4 sedans, but it is seems more a mid size 4wd SUV that rides well. I assume it will share its structure with the upcoming Porsche Macan. Could be interesting for folks who like the SUV feel and/or utility but find the Cayanne too much.

My loaner is a Nissan Altima, so you are pretty lucky.

Not really complaining. It comes with the territory when buying early copies of a new model. Happy that Porsche is aggressive at running fixes.
