Evio, I'm in Center City. Did ED last Summer. Can't wait to hear about your trip and see your new ride. You might want to start a separate thread.

It might be worth paying for full membership and post this question in off topic.
Probably get more eyeballs and some good tips.

Consider driving through Asheville
North Carolina!

I attended the 1981 PCA Parade there & they
had the Concours on the grounds of the historic
Biltmore Estate. It was quite impressive:

The rest of the city & sorrounding area is
also very nice! And the roads all around
were designed with a Porsche (or an old
Ford ) in mind!

We live only a few doors away from each other. Hit me up with a PM as we should get together!

Cool! That should work well. I'm temporarily swapping out my GTS Targa for a midcentury car I'm loaning to the Simeone Museum for a special display. The Pcar will be back in Center City mid-July.

Have a blast picking up your new ride! Look forward to catching up at Parc.

Yo, TorqueChap. I just read this entire thread and am seeking some detail about the shop you used to Xpel wrap your GTS (Sandro at Schwabenfolia). I am picking up a Macan GTS in Leipzig on Sept 6th, and will be stopping into Zuffenhausen for the factory tour (delivery there is not possible until early 2018). Bissingin is super close to Stuttgart, and I will have an entire day off doing the tour. I will be driving down to the Val d'Orcia in Italy for a 5-week stay and want to wrap the vehicle to protect it while driving in Europe as well the ocean crossing, and a trans con road trip to the west coast before another boat ride to my home in Hawaii. Any advice would be most appreciated. Danke, Gerry

Hey back Liste-Renn! I had the full front, mirrors, doors, rocker panels and A-pillar wrapped by Schwabenfolia. The wrap took a day and I was very pleased with the work done. Sandro has since relocated to a larger space due to how popular his crew is with the Stuttgart crowd. Partly due to the delivery of my Targa 4 GTS, Schwabenfolia is now more closely aligned both to Porsche as well as Xpel.

I would have had the entire car wrapped; however, I didn't want to spend two extra days in Stuttgart. Monaco was calling and I was eager to get on the road haha

To protect the unwrapped paint, I draped the rear of the car in TracWrap myself in the hotel parking lot. Germans were freaking out since temporary PPF isn't utilized in Europe. In addition, I put RimSkinz on my CXX wheels to protect the factory paint.

The car was super protected and survived a 5-country drive without event.

Once the car was back in the States, I took it to my local Xpel installer to have the temporary PPF removed, the paint corrected, proper Xpel installed and then had the entire car (plus calipers and wheels) nano coated. As an Xpel first, we even put PPF on the hardback seats and targa bar to protect those elements from my young son.

Feel free to holler with any additional Qs. Your multi-continent road trip sounds nothing short of epic!

PS - Not to be alarmist, but multiple sources told me that new Porsches are theft targets the deeper into Italy you go. Strongly suggest you always valet the car in a safe/secure lot.

PPS - Indoor parking spaces can be extremely narrow in Europe. I was obsessive in seeking out overnight parking spots that were protected from the door dings, et al.
