Its faster by a tiny margin, but you need to drive it like you stole it to exploit its full potential, better transmission and lower weight surely helps, but IMO under normal driving conditions, the 997S "feels" faster than my base 991 , the 3.8 torquier engine pushes noticeable harder at low revs.

Never - read this..already mentioned in another thread..the 991S is 6 seconds faster than the 997.2S..The 991 had PDCC..so no way a base can be in between there..

I have to find other lap times b/c I have seen the opposite posted. Does anyone remember the 0-60 times posted by Porsche officially?

I don't believe my new 991 base manual cab will be as fast as my 997.2 S PDK was?

If it is I will be even more happy.

I can assure you it is not much between them neither on Autobahn or track.

The 997 was with Michellin "semi slick" (sport tires) tires and that would help.....My guess a base carrera with PDK and sport suspention would be around 7.50 at the Ring with Horst von Saurma driving, on standard Pirelli Pzero tires.
So same speed as a 997S 385hp with Semi slick Michellin tires.
