Will 996 or 997 spacers work with the 991? Suncoast couldn't tell me and I haven't seen the question anywhere else.

Yes, as long as the bolt pattern is 5 x 130mm, which is what it is for 996 and 997.

The 5mm spacer kit is different for the 991 compared to the 997.1 & 997.2 version. They have different part numbers also.

First of all the lug nuts for the 991 version are black compared to silver for the 997. Second, the inner centering (hub) hole has different flanges on it. I have compared them side by and and there is a significant difference.

I'd stick with the kit for the respective model.

I would like to resurrect this thread......

I am thinking about ordering the spacers as well. Does anyone have pics they can post?

I like the idea of the tires in alignment with the fenders.

Sport PASM, 20s, 5mm spacers. That gives a marginally wider track, not likely really significant for handling, but there none the less. Wider ones may have more effect- good or bad given the way Porsche optimizes suspension settings.

An upside is that the effect is subtle and the wheel wells are well filled- it is noticeable when next to a similar car without them. I like it lots.
A downside is that road junk can more easily go unconfined by the fenders. Am nearing 10k miles and have a few tiny nicks - not through the paint - just behind the lower rear tires on both sides, none on the front.

funny this thread is so timely-I just ordered the 5mm from suncoast. I have been wondering for a while my 991 C2S cab classic 20" rims seem in set. After carefully examining a few cars with the 5mm spacers it became clear that that was an option to have. I am looking forward to the more aggressive look with the 5mm spacers. Will post before and after pics but it might be sometime before I get them installed.

For those of you considering the factory 5mm spacers, I found them to be cheaper at Braman than at Suncoast.

I got 5mm option on my 4S...(on the boat)...for lower rear tires nicks issue, any possible remedy/prevention? I'd assume its not mud flaps

fester, I didn't want to set off any alarms. The car gets a lot of use in lot of circumstances and is nearing 10k miles on the odometer. The sort of marks I mentioned might have been created without the spacers and lowering for all I know.

Understand...I think one option could be clear bra/protective film in that area..I'll investigate this option.

wheel sticks are these rods you insert into the hub and then can slide wheel/spacer onto car w/ ease... they are in the manual but our cars dont come w/ them because our cars dont come w/ crap.
Can you tell me how you lowered your car, what springs did you use and
are they PASM compatible? I have a non sports PASM 911 S and would like to lower car by
an inch or so
thanks

The car came with factory Sport PASM suspension and 5mm spacers. It is 20 mm lower than non PASM, 10 mm lower than PASM, via shorter stiffer springs; stiffer sway bars. I have no idea what the measurements/rates are or how they compare to aftermarket items.
