Default How do you have your NAV setup? and Why?

i have my in cluster setup as an overhead view, without "north up" and also set to show the exit signs/speed limit/turns/instruction..

i have my in dash set birds eye view, again without north up, but all other options selected...

curious how you guys have yours set up and why, i like my cluster setup but the in dash has too many options it seems at times and not sure which i like best.. i really enjoy the topografical view but at times i have to super zoom to verify a street/etc... and the birds eye really gets confusing when downtown w/ buildings (thinking of turning buildings off)

I'm very curious to hear recommendations on this. I was cycling through the options today and couldn't find a set I was completely happy with.

Birds eye console- dash flat map low zoom- I like to use it to view traffic. How do you get speed readings and traffic signs on cluster?

What is TP?

BTW does traffic go away if you dont renew Serius?

Don't have the 991 yet, but when the 3 mo Sirius trial ran out on my Touareg, traffic also disappeared . They obviously don't advertise it, but you can buy the traffic subscription alone for about $3/mo which is what I did.

Is live weather available with Sirius? I know in the past it was just available on the Panamera.

snooping around serius.com, I see that weather is available on 2010 P cars forward! Can't wait to get my '13 Caymen S Cabriolet!

I've been using topographical with course up, and auto zoom in the cluster. Course up navigating is somewhat of a hold over from by boating. With course up selected the direction of travel is always pointing up on the display. This ensures that left turns are always left turns and right turns are always right turns. More critical perhaps when navigating on the water with no roads, but its more familiar to me.

when next turn is 5 miles.. zooms out.. when next turn is 300yards, zooms in... always showing you what you need to see instead of needing to zoom in to see a turn... or zoom out to see a entire trip.

I'm still a miserable tire-kicker, endlessly toying with the configurator (and planning to order a '13 C2S this fall), but this is my plan, as well. In my case, it's a holdover from aviation (where we'd call it 'track up') that I vastly prefer to 'North up'.

Back to lurking mode... :-)
