This is what Agate Grey 'Full Leather' interior looks like on a 991!
Attached are photos of the Agate Grey 'full leather' interior on a Porsche of Monterey 'Launch Edition' 991. Just in case some of you have questions as to what is covered in 'full leather' and how it looks. Some 'Porsche Exclusive' options like the 'Defroster Trim in Leather' (covering the area of dash nearest edge of windshield) is not yet available to order. In comparison to the previous 997 leather interior, or even the full leather in my '12 Spyder, it seems to have more areas of the door panels covered in leather.
I will not wax poetically about the 991 'test drive' since it was a short stint on a crowded Highway 1 from Carmel towards Big Sur & back. I will get to go on my own test drive in the next few weeks (thanks Lance) and might perhaps have something useful to add to the current 991 conversation in this forum.

No, I think the camera lens do reveal the true color, which has some light brown in it for sure. They call it 'Agate Grey' so PAG is seeing a lot of grey in it too! It is an elegant color, if somewhat too sedate for my taste. But the color was not the priority for my thread. I really wanted to highlight the areas of the 991 interior which are covered in leather, plus show the stitching lines which are somewhat different from those found on the full leather interiors in the previous 997 model.
Attached are also photos of the 14 way Power Sport seat. Unlike previous 997 seats, it has a feature to extend support under you thighs. Second photo shows full extension. Also note increased lateral supports in the seat's bottom side cushions.

Eduardo,
That interior color doesn't do much for me either.
Can you expand on the stitching differences that you see? Sorry if they're obvious but since my baby is away for a while I can't make the comparison.
Thamks in advance.

I'm not a big alcantera fan either, but we should be grateful that at least they didn't put it anywhere where it can wear. I suppose it's the new thing; I'm marginally ok with it as roof liner, as on my C2S, so having it on the pillars would be tolerable too, but not on seats, steering wheel, etc.

That's cool. Next time I'll order full leather instead of my standard interior. But I am not too upset considering I am paying $116k all inclusive for the 991s and I do have items like pdk, sport chrono and sport exhaust. I don't agree with going to $140K.

And when it comes to covering other parts of the cabin's interior, Porsche has taken the lead in associating 'Alcantara' to a sporting interior. PAG used it extensively in the 997.1 & 997.2 gt3 & gt3 RS, then added it to the 997.2 'gts' model in MY2012. It was also offered on the Limited Edition '08 'RS Orange' Boxsters, etc, plus the '11/'12 Spyder & Cayman R interiors. Thus, Porsche has been aggressively offering its customers 'Alcantara' seat inlays, door panels, door arm-rests, center consoles, lower dash coverings, shifter boots, e-brake handles and steering wheels on their most 'sporting' models! Even 'Alcantara' sunvisors are available on special orders! With the intro of the gt2 RS and 4.0 LE gt3 RS, we got 'Alcantara' not only in its signature 'Charcoal Grey' color, but also in vivid 'Carrera Red'!
Thus, I am pretty sure that PAG's marketing department has conclusive evidence that 'Alcantara' is in demand by their targeted clientele, especially those buying Porsche's sportiest models. I don't see that trend being reversed in the near future. You can expect to see a lot more 'Alcantara' inlays, covered panels and 'options' once the 991 gt3 & RS is announced! In fact, I noticed recently that the manufacturers of 'Alcantara' (a synthetic suede-like material) have even become an official sponsor of many Porsche events. So 'Alcantara' is here to stay...at least until the next 'big' thing in automotive interior materials is discovered!

The German manufacturers seem to consider 'Alcantara' on the headliner as a truly luxurious upgrade. I first encountered it on my 2003 Audi RS6, where it was 'standard'. It is also found on my MB CL600 as 'Standard'. It was on my 2007 997.1 (RIP), also 'Standard'. Audi offers it as an option on their R8 interior roof. Porsche offered it as an option on the Cayman R's headliner.
