Having DD'd one for the last 12 months and 10K miles, I can tell you that simply is not true.
That would have driven me nuts. The car is always making noises that make you think it's about to come apart. They are normal, but it certainly doesn't breed confidence. Every time I have driven a GT-R the car makes me feel like an extraneous meat component. I felt like it was telling me, "turn the steering, mash the brake, and step on the gas meat bag and let the much smarter computers can get back to work!"
That's why I think it's funny when the 997 guys complain about how digital the 991 is. If on a scale of 1-100 with 100 being all digital a 997 is a 20, the 991 is a 23, and the GT-R is an 85. It's like driving a simulator, but in the real world. Don't get me wrong, it's a stunning technological achievement, but it leaves me cold. Again, I am being completely subjective here so don't flame me. I'm sure there are many people who feel the same about the 991. It's all just a matter of degree.
