82 days and counting
ordered the cs a few weeks ago.
black/black,--i know boring--pdk,sport exhaust, carrera classic wheels, bose, sport chrono, and a few other items. car is locked. build date is 12/12 and it's expected to be at the dealer by the end of january--not to be released until february 4.
anyone know if there are shift paddles on the standard steering wheel? i needed standard for the heated wheel.
so i didn't do anything with the rear emblems but in looking at the great pictures on this forum, i'm leaning toward just leaving "porsche"--taking "911 carrera s" off. another thought was to have the "porsche" letters painted black. will i have to re-center "porsche"? it appears to be lower on the cars where the designation was omitted at the factory.
also eager to see the u.s. rear bumper/license plate area--not sure it's been shown yet. wonder if they'll have a u.s. version at the l.a. auto show.
will the side running lights be amber instead of the clear ones we're seeing? these will have to be replaced as well.
can't wait to get it and start getting tickets. been spending way too much time on the forum.
quality problems...

I've also ordered cs with same options like yours, but different color combination. No, the standard steering doesn't have shift paddles but since you are ordering the PDK one, you will get the shift paddles (push buttons). Heated steering wheel is an option.
For the back, if you leave out the model designation, then the porsche logo will be lower automatically. Why would you need it higher? You don't have anything below it. Just stick to what Porsche gives.

Gary - to get the PDK with a heated steering wheel, you are going to get the steering wheel with shift 'buttons'. The shift paddles are only available on the SportDesign steering wheel (which isn't available with the heating function). If it were me, I would cancel the heated steering wheel and go for the SportDesign steering wheel - in my opinion, it looks much, much better and has paddles instead of buttons (the negatives of which have been exhaustively written about). Of course, I live in Texas, where there isn't much need for a heated steering wheel.
Standard PDK steering wheel (with buttons) - this is what the heated steering wheel's shift buttons will look like: http://carsnewhybrid.com/2011/08/18/...-911-leaked-3/
Here is what the SportDesign steering wheel looks like: http://www.asphalte.ch/news/wp-conte...che_991_16.jpg
Again, from everything I understand the SportDesign steering wheel is not available with the heated steering wheel option, but it is the one with shift paddles instead of shift buttons.

Heated steering is just a stupid option. I've lived in the coldest climates of the US, yet never felt the need for heated steering, heated seats perhaps, but heated steering a waste of money.
Yes, sport design steering is the way to go.

I don't think a heated steering wheel in a Porsche is needed. I have one on my M5 and I wouldn't have it any other way. Once you have one - its great. On a moist cold day - turn on the heated seats and steering wheel - they both warm up within a few blocks. You find yourself not needing the car heat right away - it just helps on those really cold days. Thats why I don't think they are needed on a 911 - if its that cold - I'm driving something else.

i now need to go drive it and figure out the pcm etc
it's a very cool car. even my wife liked the pse from both in and out of the car--shocking.
