Default Journalist Days in Santa Barbara

Fortunately for me, Porsche decided to use Santa Barbara as the international press release for "The Next 911."

Seeing several going by our Sunday morning Cars and Coffee event in Montecito it was tempting to go sort out where they were hiding!

First stop was the Biltmore where I saw a 1970 911 under wraps (I believe it's Jerry's) and then spoke to several test drivers, making some alternative route recommendations (as a local only knows!)

Then off to the Fess Parker Red Lion where the cars are stabled. One of our local car detail guys routinely does detail work for PCNA so he got called out to do the cars for the press, so it was easy to get in to see and shoot the cars. (He learned a lot about detailing Porsches off mine, and others in the local club).

Here is an assortment of the cars that the international press will soon be flogging throughout Santa Barbara County. You can expect to see these colored cars in their magazines at a newsstand near you!

I like the variety of colors. To me its GR and White. That CW is just outstanding.

Do you know what he used as a last-step-product to detail the Porsches?

I'll give Andrew a call sometime and ask him what he was using.

May not be so, but looks like a smaller trunk and less convenient access to the engine from the top.

The trunk room is actually larger than that on the 997 (not 4).

Didn't shoot any side shots of the black and white cars. Sort of was expecting that PCNA would be suggesting that I leave the area at any time so I shot quickly and as unobtrusively as I could. This is pretty much everything I shot.

A friend of mine sent me some nice pics of the 991 when VW brought in all of the competitor's top unreleased sport cars a month or so ago. I like the new 991, it looks great to me and roomier.

Great pics! From a certain angle the rear reminds me of a Chrysler Crossfire. No doubt from straight rear its a 911. I wonder too....how accessible the engine bay is.
