My understanding is that the center radiator on 991 PDK cars are 'hot climate' specs that PAG makes available for markets like those in the Middle East. I asked PAG & PCNA staff at Rennsport specifically about that 'extra' center radiator and that is the answer I received. Not all PDK had them. I did not see it on any 991 manual trans model since the 991's I remember seeing at Rennsport were all PDK. My guess is that this extra radiator is for cooling the PDK transmission but only for a non-US 'hot climate' spec 991.

PAG sent multiple foreign market spec 991's (whatever they had at hand of early production) to the US for these early intro events. That includes Rennsport IV (Laguna Seca) in mid-October and now this event in Santa Barbara. Notice how many of these cars have non-US bumpers. Saludos, z356 (Carmel)

These look like euro cars from the front side markers. I see a few of the cars have a satin or chrome molding around the side windows. Is this going to be offered in the USA?

Things are starting to wind down in Santa Barbara. We had a good sized rain storm last night but Porsche managed to clean up their cars nicely early this morning. I took a run down last night to see how things were going and decided to come down again in the morning for a "photo op."

They have a Carrera S with PDK displayed across from the Biltmore and next to the Coral Casino. (They even brought their own flag poles!) This location also gave me the opportunity to get a 997S and a 991S together in a single photo to compare the styling changes. (Pardon me if I used my cabriolet).

Directly in front of the Biltmore entrance they positioned a 1970 911S Coupe (probably in Kelly or Viper Green). I think it may be one of Jerry's cars. (I had to toss mine in 'for scale.')

I beg to differ. The 991 looks great in many colors - red and yellow in particular - but not so great in white. The 991 has too many slats and black accents. The 997.2 looks fantastic in white.

So Dan, how much bigger is the 991 in person?

I'm curious what the final design of the rear bumper will be for the US Plates.

If I'm not mistaken, that's a 997.2 Sport Classic which was only available in Europe. It is a stunning car.

The 991 doesn't appear that much larger. Keep in mind that they shortened the overhangs while lengthening the wheelbase. It's well hidden. Porsche always works in baby steps. They also appeared to have radically improved the PSE for the DI engines. These sound quite nice.

If the comment relates to this picture that I took in Monterey, it is a 997 Sport Classic. The color is actually gray. Have included another shot that I took. (Nice catch of the lady yawning too!)
