Third radiator on 991.2 carrera T
#2
I did. I live in Las Vegas so that's why I did it. Plus I tracked my T for a couple years when I first got it. I had it installed by a local independent. I had it done relatively early on so I cant say there's any "difference" but I can tell you I have never had an issue when running in the heat of the day. Bumper to bumper, downtown, 122 on the readout and I was cool and calm in the car and temps were kept well within the safe zone. No regrets.

This is a DIY project if you are handy. $800 for the kit from Suncoast.mI’m not sure that the benefits will be obvious unless you live extreme temps like the a Middle East or maybe Scottsdale.

I had one put on my .1 C2S before moving to Texas. You can buy OEM from Sun Coast for like $500. Well worth it in my opinion. Just a little piece of mind in the heat down here.

I bought the kit from FCP Euro, but have not installed. It is half of what the Porsche price is and from the same manufacturer… Debating on installing as I may track once or twice a year at most.

Yep, I did the PWR centre radiator years ago when I did the GT3 front bumper.
991.1 GTS had them standard here in Australia.
But 991.2 had the silly crystal ball rubbish. I yanked that out. Put GT3 bumper on and centre radiator.
They said centre radiator for hot climates. 🤣. Hello, we often get 60 degree C track temps.

Have only been to Trophy once and they weren't too keen on modifying my car. Awesome dudes and definitely appreciate the honesty, but options are good to have. Anything huge and I will likely just take it out to Eric at Supreme, but always good to have local options. Thanks.

In S. Florida running at redline on track with temps over 90 degrees, I have yet to see coolant or oil run anywhere near the "too hot" area. And I have my coolant gauge reprogrammed to give the real reading, not the idiot light that comes from the factory, Heat sink with the turbos is the only temp related issue I've seen, and a front radiator wont solve that.
If the car was more heavily modded, like @4 Point 0 , makes perfect sense. But I'm not seeing the need for most applications.

Be sure you're always in Sport or Sport Plus which opens the front air vanes. Makes a 30 degree difference on a hot day in Charleston, SC. Have been dawdling but plan on removing the vanes and the actuators as part of my car's diet.

the Sport/Sport+ modes open up additional cooling circuits in the cooling system, moving more coolant through additional radiators, and sets the target temp lower for the controller that regulates this stuff. The air vanes I don’t think come into play at all with this extra cooling, and really are there to close at high speed and prevent lift as you go above 100mph.

Active grill shutters are to help the OEMs meet fuel economy targets; reduce aero drag. They open up if the car is running too hot.
