Default Large tire puncture, safe for track use?

Hi guy's i wanted to go for à ride this morning but discover that my rear tire was down so checked for the leak and found a huge stud in my ar1 so puted à plug and no more leak. But Question is a plug for a huge stud safe for track? or should i put a patch inside safer?

should probably do a proper vulcanized patch+plug for something that big, provided it's more than an inch or whatever from the shoulder.

Any tire shop or race shop should be able to guide you.

I would never use a punctured tire on the track.

Patch from inside. While you'd probably be fine with only the plug, wouldn't want to risk it.

Where did you source the AR1? What size are running.

If not near the shoulder patch it... at your own risk.

Considering them once I need to replace my Cup 2 tires. What can you compare the AR1 to? Curious if it is noisier than the Cup 2.

AR-1 are horrendously noisy. My car sounded like a 4 x 4.

The new CR-S is out and it is quiet and fantastic all rounder and massive bang per buck.

You are far better off with CR-S than AR-1. They might call the CR-S a CR-1 in the states.

Ignore the 200TW vs 80TW of AR-1. All tyre companies have the new cheating formula. The CR-S is faster than an AR-1 and smooth and quiet and refined.

If you want next level, then Cup2-R. But they are twice the cost of CR-S, and they pick up debris on the street. They are wasted on the street.

The normal cup2 is a great street tyre. The rain grooves are far to wide for the track and get destroyed in one track day. They V on the grooves badly. They are a great tyre on the track once! So its not want you want.

I’ve run CR-S on the track in the rain and they were fantastic. They are my new favourite tyre. Cup2-R when I am feeling a PB is due.
