Don’t be silly brother. Your life and your car are worth more than a tyre or two. NEVER run a patched tyre on the track. EVER!

The street may be fine, but never on the track. The lateral forces on the tyres are insane at the track. You do not want a blow out for the sake of the cost of two tyres.

Yes, and so are the CR-S.

The AR-1 are similar to R888R, which are also noisy.
I found the R888R is great from cold, great for drag racing. However they didn’t like getting too hot at the track and would become greasy.

So AR-1 are better for circuits than R888R. The new CR-S has it all. Great traction on street from cold, and its quiet.

It really should have been named (The new refined) AR-1.

Which essentially what it is.

One last point. The 305/30/20 AR-1 run narrow. They never had a 325/30/12 to compensate, however CR-S does! They listen to feedback.

I've found that many tire shops will not patch (professional inside patch vulcanized type) high performance tires. Prohibited by the manufacturer.

Nobody will notice that at a tech inspection. Proper plug and patch on the inside is fine for street, not for track, IMHO. Plug alone, not safe for either.

Never saw "Are any of your tires plugged?" on any tech form, and I have been doing tech inspections for a decade.

Thx Mark for your help
I checked for the cr-s and they are 200 TW?
the AR1 are 100 TW so the cr-s should last more but you say they grip more then the AR1 you say?

I’ve ran track days on plugged tires in the past and had zero issues.

I would not feel comfortable doing 150mph back stretch of RA on a plugged tired... no way.

I am amazed that many are missing the point. I am not worried about you, your plugged tire or your car. I am worried about you spinning out, running into my car and me. You better be packing or one hell of a fast runner.

Glad some owners are not in charge of an airline maintenance program.

my guy.

who cares if I feel okay with that repair. do YOU feel okay with that? does my feeling okay with it change how you feel about it?

further, did the shop who did the repair tell you "yeah this will be fine for the driving situation you have told me you plan to do" ?

what are you trying to get out of this thread at this point? you've been told "don't drive on it that" and "that's fine to drive on" already.

Let the people in your run group know you’re running on a patched tire, then ask for their opinions. If you’ll have an instructor in your car, please let that person know about the patched tire

I would listen to 4 Point 0. He knows what he is talking about when it comes to tracking.
