This is all BS -- I got an offer last week I would've taken which was over 80k - the wife said not to sell .... so its still in the garage.

This thread is a drama fest ....

Mexico is a dime a dozen PTS color. It’s not some super rare color. Again, I’m not arguing with you. Im commending you for a job well done. After auctioning your car on BaT, getting only $87k for it, refusing to honor your obligation to sell and getting booted from their platform, listing it on Rennlist a year ago and getting no takers, you listed it on eBay and immediately got an offer of $105k, still below your ask but way over what it’s worth. Assuming that’s a real offer, you’re gonna make out very well. Better than most that list their cars too high. Weird that you’ve only got one bid though.

Same here. Just traded a manual Boxster S for my 991.2 PDK. Now everyone in my house can drive it and enjoy it - I call that a reasonable compromise

Yet in post 338, he spammed this thread with a link to his for sale ad. Which is nothing more than a link to his eBay auction.

On the thread topic, I just sold my GT4 to a dealer for what I paid new for it two years ago and they sold it for well over sticker in less than a week, so I don’t think values are dropping much on desirable cars.

Now that the market has rebounded and inflation has met zenith, I believe we can expect the 911 fever to begin again. Way too much money out there. These kids waiting on the sidelines are dreamers more than doers. This tread has become a bit dramatic and fodder. Not even sure what I even mean. lol

I agree, I think the GT cars etc will hold strong, especially lower mileage and desirable specs, but less enthusiasts models like SUV's etc which were all selling for way over MSRP have already dropped back down to earth. It starts there, and if the supply chain ever catches back up and new models are back on a more normal production schedule then we'll see some of the enthusiasts models stabilize and maybe deflate a bit. But one thing is certain, cars prices as a whole are dropping. We are def in our little bubble in this Porsche forum. We forget that we represent maybe .05% of car buyers in the US

Agree the GT cars being rarer seem to hold value more.

guess we shall see if the price drops and inventory sitting for the rest of the 911’s continue….

Default Supply chain issues are

Not as bad as maufacturers are making out. Recent formula is decrease supply, increase demand through false narrative about supply chain making things special and rare, increase price/profit. The tail is wagging the dog. Only market disruption can right the ship.

Everything is a conspiracy! Porsche isn't a manufacturer of "rare" cars (for the most part) and don't seem to want to move in that direction. If you think they want to purposefully decrease production while trying to IPO, you're rather funny. Supply chain issues aren't a "false narrative". They're very much a reality and continue to linger through the perfect storm of still on-going global events that created them. It's also worth noting that increasing the price does not always equal increasing profits, especially when your costs are rising due to inflation and hence your price adjustments are made to mostly account for that.

Regardless, prices are falling and cars are sitting much longer, even GT cars, tho not as much as non-GT cars. Oddly enough there are more 992 GT3s on the market right now than 991.2 GT3s. As things very slowly return to "normal" the trend of falling prices will continue, slowly but surely.
