I think safety advancement design is such that they want the car to crumple as much as possible, because that reduces potential injury to the human. And so, such a light weight car with tight packaging, I’m not sure how else this would work on a 911.

Sure, but the catalytic devices are probably not part of the engineered crumple zone.
And, I know I'm beating the horse, but the parts are nonsensically priced. I'm still laughing about the Chinese Porsche window switch assembly ... $20 vs $200 ... both the same, except Porsche likely paid $5 for the assembly. And, they're both crap quality.

This. After a hit and run totaled my parked (and much beloved) A5, I installed Blackvue front and rear cams in my GTS during the "making it mine" phase.
