Tuning base 991.2
Hi folks. To those who tunes their cars, Was wondering if tuning my base 991.2 would make my almost silent exhaust/engine sound a little louder or not when accelerating at least?
Am pulling the trigger this weekend and would like to know if I can get a little sound up with a tune.
thanks.

You want it louder then here is your list in order of priority..
1. Cats. Change from stock to 200 cell cats to increase the sound immediately or catless straight pipe if you want it extra loud but illegal
2. Muffler. Change out the exhaust section of the muffler to make it louder but, you may introduce some drone
3. Header. My experience is that the headers didn't make it louder but made it throatier and deeper sounding. Less whining and more muscle sounding.

I have the Fabspeed muffler delete 'X' on my 991.2 and it's great. Still running OE cats so it's not too loud. BTW you should tune your car. Holy hell does it wake it up and make it even better to drive. I have the FVD software.

Thanks. The feedback is great. The place doing the tune is also offering fabspeed install. So I might do it. Thanks again.

Do you're research on Fabspeed. Google them, and search on this forum. Not trying to dissuade you one way or the other, just do some research before you jump in..

A tune won’t help sound but are you looking to increase the sound from inside the cabin or outside when you drive by onlookers?
I’ve listened to some modded .2 Porsche's and they do achieve, an outside the car sound, but for me it drowned out what was in the cabin.
For me personally what is heard inside the cabin from the motor is more important than what people would hear outside your car.
Good luck with the tune and please report back on outcome.

I have a rather aggressive tune on my AMG and it's very obvious to the driver that the car is tuned, (and not in a good way)

I haven’t driven a .2 C2 but have .2 C2S and in cabin noise is fantastic. But also have PSE which may be helping that. I think the most important in cabin sound for me is the acceleration howl. And mine has plenty of howl, more than my older NA 981 BS. From a general noise making perspective though the .1 had plenty of it. But never felt the howl was as prevalent as it is on the .2 though, sound symposer or not. Do you have PSE on your Carrera? If not maybe that’s a good step after tune.
