Any regrets going from PDK to Manual or vice versa?

991.1 pdk to a 991.2T with a manual. Sold the 991 because of the pdk. No regrets. PDK is an amazing transmission and you cannot go wrong with either. Just don’t buy a 991.1 as the .2 is way better.🤣🤣

I test drove 3 PDK cars (997.2 TT, 991.2 Targa 4S, 992 C2S) prior to buying a 7MT 991.1 GTS.
I do my fair amount of driving in city or traffic jam, I just got used to it. I don't have serious leg injuries but I think an MT in city traffic is do able in my personal case. I just got used to it, even with my MT 993. So far, I never got regrets about not having bought a PDK. Rowing my own gears is so much fun for me.
Maybe when I am old, I will consider switching to PDK but I hope to maintain my health condition over the next decades so that I will always be able to drive a manual.

That’s all this forum is.
“what exhaust?”
”what suspension?”
”991.2 or 991.1?”
”GTS or?”
”PDK or manual?”
Porsche sells however many billion options so you can pick what is right for YOU. Everyone has different wants/needs and all of the options have pro/cons that will help meet whichever needs someone has. People are often looking for validation in their choices instead of just doing what makes since for their own needs and just enjoying what makes them happy.

Which tire is the best..... for track / road / dual-duty?
I love a manual transmission vehicle and regret selling my 04 Subaru STi. There were days I drove the Subaru to work instead of the 911 just to row through the gears.
I also love driving my 93 RX-7, the lack of traction control / stability control, sub 3000 with driver and 5 speed make it a blast to drive!!! I tracked both the 911 and RX-7. and enjoyed shifting on the track, and giving up time (but i didn't mind).
Knowing how much I much I enjoy shifting gears, I went with a PDK 911 b/c the PDK transmission is amazing / can shift manually / want to occasionally take the 911 to the track. There are times I wish the 911 was a MT, but not enough that I would trade for a MT. My solution is to dump $$ into the RX-7 and make it my fix for the MT cravings. If I didn't have my RX-7 I would likely get a MT Porsche. A 993/997/991.1 MT would fit the bill nicely

I recently sold my daily 996 C4S Cab manual for a 997.2 Turbo S Cab PDK. Point blank, I regret not having a manual for my daily driver. With that said, I think the PDK matches the powerband of the Turbo S really well (though a stick wasn't offered in the 997.2 Turbo S; maybe for good reason). If I could turn back time, I'd keep the 996, but alas I don't have a DeLorean with a functioning Flux Capacitor.
I'm fortunate that I have a 996 Turbo manual and 991.1 GT3 RS, so I can always take the 996 when I want the manual experience and RS for the ultimate in PDK.
If the perfect 997.2 GTS4 cab manual ever shows up on the market, the Turbo S will be gone in a heartbeat.
To each their own!

Just arriving home - thank you gents. Seems I will begin my search and add a manual vehicle to keep the other hooligans company - look forward to sharing soon!
For fear of causing an insurrection I consider the matter answered and am thankful - just poured one I hope you all do the same.

Went from a 991.1 PDK to 991.2 manual. Will never look back. If I was tracking the car often, I would hands down get a PDK. It’s so good. But for random track days and spirited driving, manual all the way. Much more engaging.

I think you really have to ask yourself if you really want a manual my 991 is a pdk and my Cayman S is a 6spd. Personally if I could only have 1 it would be the pdk it is that good. I like the 6spd for the back roads the most

I’ve owned 3 RX7’s and when recently shopping for a new sportscar i was looking hard at low mileage FD’s but ended up spending a little more to get into a Carrera T. I would love to get another RX7 at some point, but the prices they are at now makes it hard to not consider other options. FD is still my all time favorite sports car though 😊
