I added the wireless Apple Car Play dongle (carlinkit3.0) to my 991.2, and I wanted wireless charging too.
I had built a wireless charger for my last 997.1, and really liked having it as using CarPlay can kill a battery quickly.I use a small 12v -> usb-c inside the cigarette lighter socket. It's designed for a stock and unmodified Apple magsafe charger.
There are ZERO mods to the car. Simply flip the ashtray lid up, pop the power supply in, plug in the charger within the new housing, and snap it in place. Done.
Also - this is still a prototype. The finished product will be much smoother.
This bottom pic mainly just shows the progression of the prototyping process.
Edit: Due to the overwhelming demand, anyone who'd like one can order here - I am doing these pretty much at cost, and I set this up to handle collecting shipping info etc in one place: https://b2prototech.com/product/991-magsafe/
Looks nice-ashtray lid stays in place? Will you be offering these for sale or posting a file to 3D print?
Yes - Ashtray lid stays in place. ZERO changes to the car... you only plug in the 12v power, then pop the Apple magsafe charger into the mount, and snap that over the ashtray area itself. I designed it to pop on and stay put.
I'll make them for cost if someone wants one. The main caveat is the magsafe plug is tall, so you have to have a low profile 12v -> usb-c plug. Like this one:
This is what it looks like underneath. You can see where the charge cable passes through from the puck when it's slipped in from the top. Doing this allows the mount to sit just above the ashtray door in the open position:
