How many miles is too many?
I’m looking at 991s, and found one that has all the options I want, but has about 75,000 miles on it. Should I be worried about stuff starting to break? How many miles is too many?

well I am a 2nd owner at 88k miles (bought with 20k miles) and my car has been fantastic other than the weird reverse light stopped working on my manual car, which was covered under CPO. Other notable failures were failed clock spring (warranty), broken wire for active spoiler (replaced with a ducktail), a couple failed PCV (warranty), squeaky gas tank (found tech bulletin and fixed myself with some grease and $10 in foam from home depot). But that's really it (knock on wood). I have been on top of all my maintenance though and warm up the car before ripping on her.
She drives and looks new.

for a 991 I'd be concerned over 135k miles if there's no maintenance history.

Sometimes waiting is the best decision. Getting into a Porsche 911 before ready financially is not a great idea especially if there is no warranty. Don’t know your resources so I’m not jumping to any conclusions. Just my opinion as once you do get it then you want to mod it too and the $’s just keep adding up and you don’t want any major maintenance hitting you in the face.
I’ve had several 911’s and my current has 42K miles. I’m not afraid of mileage on a properly maintained car but stuff does break.
