A whoosh is good, I'm not into JDM exaggerated blow off sound.
Definitely not a JDM exaggerated blow off sound. You can just hear it in the background. Just enough sound to give you a smile. It fits with the sound (I have Soul headers and sport cats as well).
Totally worth it!

With the stock configuration it’s impossible for the 991.2 to sound like the classic JDM vented atmosphere, even if using a JDM BOV as a diverter valve. When you put the correct inlet/outlet on for your hose size, since it’s all routed back into the intake it will basically sound same. The JDM sound was from dumping to the atmosphere and the BOV using specific outlets, some of which could be tuned to alter the sound. This is the Greddy BOV with the Funnel style “vent horn” which gives very distinct sound:
This is the outlet intended to be used when recirculating back into the inlet pipe:
Same BOV, but will give very different sound, so someone putting one on an Eclipse GSX and dumping to the atmosphere with the horn outlet will get the distinct JDM sound, and someone installing them on the 991.2 would get the whoosh sound basically same as OEM.
You must be absolutely killing the brakes lap after lap and running basically all-out.
I believe I said this before, we've used Stoptech on our BMW 335 race car for years. The car "only" makes about 400hp and weighs 3200lbs. and we've run 12 hour endurance races without any brake issues.
I do recall doing a 6 hour endurance race at Mid-Ohio with BMWCCA and hitting 155mph (250kph) down the back straight lap after lap and still had no issues. We had a pretty good fight with a couple of cars, so I wasn't going easy on the car for sure.
!
I ran 355 fr and rear StopTechs on my E39 ///M5 in 2003.
They looked huge under the 18’s, back in the day.
I requested that Brembo not paint the RED logo on yhe GT-R calipers. I don’t know if they will agree.
I said it saves me posting pictures of the melted paint sliding off the Nickel plating 🤣. I don’t think they thought that was funny.
My TurboSmart BOV had the trumpet on the end and a spacer to block off and recirculate. Remove the spacer and it vents to atmo. All in all it is pretty quiet. I recirc.
its only when I back off at Redline down the end of the main straight, my son on the wall, tells me it gives a pretty decent woosh. But I’m concentrating on impending death, turning into turn 1 as fast as humanly possible . So I don’t really notice it. Being catless the car is pretty loud with valves open.
Here is something of interest to consider when measuring Brembo up against AP, in the Premium Nickel plates versions.
Brembo’s plating is manufactured into the final tolerances of the caliper. It’s done in the production process.
However AP’s is a coating that is applied afterwards. Which means it insulates. Keeps the heat in. Thats a bad thing.
How do you know that AP's isn't engineered into the design?
Also, I believe you need more cooling regardless. Think about it. I just watched the 24 hours of Daytona and you hardly hear of any brake issues on the GT cars anymore.
The GT3 RSR uses steel brakes for endurance racing and I don't recall ever hearing issues of brakes.

Something's a miss here.
I don't know 4.0s track, but there's a lot of highspeed cooling going on at Daytona

Brembo owns AP. I spoke with someone high up in Brembo.
Race cars have huge cooling ducts.
The nee GT-R Hi Thermal (thicker, more mass) Rotors will help with cooling. Also the GT-R has vented pistons.
I will say Brembo needs to do a better job in marketing. Over the years I have seen the GT-R kits in the 18k range, but no one tells me why. Now I know and thank you for sharing
Although I'm very happy with my APs. these will be on the list for the next car.
BTW the Endless RF-650 fluid is amazing. I have not been on the track but spirited driving I have the firmest pedal I've ever had of any car. I didn't think fluid could make that much of a difference in pedal firmness and feel.
