Glad you are ok-imo the car looks totaled -especially if the front frunk area is damaged. I would pull some comps of recently sold 991.2s to get a clear understanding of value if they total it out. Do you have specialty insurance or normal insurance (geico, progressive, etc )?

It's my daily folks - my other car is an SUV for the kids, but I don't drive that one. Love the 911 - best car I ever owned and will get another. This time I'll be even more careful driving it.
Thanks for all the support and advice folks! Will use it once I get back word from my insurance.

First really glad you walked away from it unscathed.
Unless it has some sentimental value to you (which after 3-months I’m guessing it would not) then try and get a check and into a new 911. I had a Subaru years ago that was damaged from a side swipe. Although cosmetic only, it bothered me every time I drove it. And then the repair wasn’t done right, so years later the clear coat started peeling etc. I would not want that with my Porsche.

Glad you’re okay and no one got hurt. What a beautiful 991 but agree with others that it should be classified as totaled. We have State Farm and IMO a fantastic insurance company. I’m sure they’ll do it right including payout.

i see a totaled 911 in your pic. if not, it's very close. i would fight tooth and nail to have it totaled if it's close and the decide to repair it. bummed to see such a beautiful 911 wrecked but in the end....it's just a nice car and can easily be replaced. you being ok is all that REALLY matters. count your blessings and don't sweat it too much. spend a moment thinking about the horror of you/your body "not being ok" after a wreck like that and you'll be able to move on alot easier.
best of luck going forward

No worries about that this car is totaled. They will get top dollar on copart and lose money if they put it back together. Between trying to get new parts and trying to find body technicians to fix it properly the insurance company will opt for salvaging the car. I would be extremely surprised if they don’t.

Glad you're alright. I would push for it to be totaled. It's much easier to get a check and walk away and get another car than deal with the damage disclosure and Carfax hit down the road. On top of that you may be dealing with parts availability issues.

I would tend to agree that it is probably totaled. Do you have a picture of the passenger's side? That'd make it a bit easier to see if there is likely fame damage, but judging from the angle of the hood - there likely is. Frame damage in the front can be repaired, but it isn't cheap or easy to do it right - even then I don't think I'd want it unless it were going to be a track car project.
cheers!

I'm so sorry to hear - but glad you are ok. Can't add much other than to wish things work out and you get into a new(er) car soon. Good luck!

Wow, sorry to see this happen to your car. I would think it's a total loss. It's not a classic so I'm not sure I would want it back even if it were fixed.
Even if you feel fine, I would still go get checked out. The impact from hitting the guard rail isn't the same as riding on a roller coaster.
You didn't mention your technique you used to "slow down" the car, a lot of people would brake and probably brake really hard. This is the wrong technique, I would let off on the throttle and focus on maintaining control of the car through the steering wheel.

Ive heard
Since parts are so hard to source right now the are totaling everything. I would negotiate with the body shop state farm to show it can not be fixed in a reasonable time frame. You no longer want this car even with diminished value.
