If I'm not mistaken, there's an updated version that doesn't fall out as easily as the original. I manage to lose one on each oil change. (Can't recall if this pertains to the grommet pictured in the vertical or horizontal position)

Last Fall I discovered that a few grommets were missing from my 991.1 engine bay, so I worked with the dealer’s parts guy to get replacements. He could not tell for certain from the diagrams which grommet went where, and thought there were at least 3 different kinds in there. So, I ended up ordering 2 of each. I figured it out later once the parts arrived:
997 110 239 00 grommets ($2.39 each), hold the small plastic triangular right engine cover – 3 are required for that cover. Two of these grommets are also used to hold the engine’s plastic upper intake Y pipe (air guide) to the sheet metal.
991 624 353 00 grommets -- replacement part number 9P1-959-841 ($3.68 each), hold the 2 front posts of each of the 2 fans to the sheet metal. They are larger than the other 2 types and have a foam or felt washer. My 4 were all still there.
958 110 673 00 grommets ($2.18 each), hold the single rearward post of each fan. I think these are also used on the 4 corners of the fans to hold down the plastic engine cover.
I applied a small amount of dielectric silicone grease on all fan and engine cover posts to ease future insertion and removal from the grommets.
While you are in there looking for lost grommets, you might want to check the height of the engine lid when closed. It’s height is adjustable. I discovered that there are 2 adjustable rubber bumpers (underneath, on each rear corner of the engine lid) that stop the lid when it’s closed. On my GTS they were out of adjustment (screwed in too far), allowing the lid’s latch retaining screws to nick the brushed chrome trim on the plastic engine cover. I extended the bumpers by turning them counter-clockwise to bring the lid’s closed position up little bit so the damage doesn’t get worse.

Thanks for your post. I’m trying to figure out which part number I need for the circled piece in the pic below (which is missing on the other side). It’s where the bottom of the fan plastic trim locks into car body. I’ve ordered this part 991 624 353 00 (replacement part number 9P1-959-841), but it is definitely not that. See link from Pelican Parts.

Also, although the grommet you ordered (991 624 353 00 replacement part number 9P1-959-841) is not the right one for that location, your Pelican Parts link got an odd result. Here's the result when I searched their site for the original number 991 624 353 00: https://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin...991+624+353+00 Maybe they just used the wrong picture for the replacement part.
