My 991.1 to 991.2 Conversion
#61
Thanks for sharing. Every once in a while I get the urge to put the 991.1 GT3 front bumper on my GTS--I think it's just such a great look. Then I get afraid if I think about ever selling it and all the questions--was it in an accident? But then I don't think I'll ever get rid of it so who cares...and suppress the urge for a while. Still don't think I could ever justify doing it, but hat's off for having an idea and following through!
TBH, the OP's car is much more desirable and exciting to me than another standard 911. I love it. There was another build on here that was very similar with a ton of upgrades like this and it sold pretty quickly if I remember (it was black with a lot of interior upgrades including a cage and buckets.
My car wasn't stock literally the very next day that I had gotten it. I installed clear side markers and Rennline pedals. There are plenty more to come as well.

Embrace your eccentricities and enjoy life. Don't "not" do it just because of what others will think, do it because YOU want to as the OP did.

I don't think anyone is knocking this guy for making it his own, but I think there's also a realization that not all of us would choose to do this.
Which... is the whole point, right?

I just bought a 991.1 targa because I always loved the targa look and I wanted a naturally aspirated engine. I took out the OEM front grill because I prefer the GT3 type look and made my own ($$$). Next steps are GT3RS sideskirts, GT3 Style front lip, GT3 wheels, and possibly a GT3 rear bumper/exhaust. I know I'll never get the money back but cars are mostly my only hobby. I started with nothing and worked hard for what I have so why not enjoy it?

But... would you buy it if it over another standard 911 all things being equal?

All I would need is proof that it wasn't in an accident.
And, yes, it is the whole point - totally agree with you
