Love it! How much (ballpark) was the fenders and bodywork? I'm tempted to do this on my 991.1 targa gts

YOUR car, make it YOURS.

It’s not the path I’d have chosen for my car, but I think your car looks great. Have fun.

Thank you! I didn't have to change the fenders. Just bumpers, and all the lights, i added sideskirts, and a cup lip. I did all the work myself including installing suspension, and all the body parts. So i didn't spend that much. I'll have to calculate everything and get back to you.

You have a GTS which is widebody so everything should bolt up perfectly. I had to struggle a little to get the rear bumper to fit. Also, i'm assuming you have center locks so you can run GT3 wheels also. But becareful, some guys in this thread will probably have a stroke if they see GT3 wheels on a GTS

Here is a pic of a targa with GT3RS parts:

Awesome project. The before and after pics look as if they were taken of two completely different cars. Good job!

Did you also install the 991.2 steering wheel?

Thank you! A new steering wheel is on the list along with other parts. I'm trying to finish the exterior first. Then the interior will be next.

I like it. How did you modify the exhaust to a center outlet for gt3 rear bumper?

Thanks. I used an OEM GT3 center exhaust and basically you’ll have to have a shop make a small custom connection from the muffler to the cat. Or you can buy GT3 side bypass pipes and custom weld a flange to connect to the Carrera cat

Looks great OP. I always wondered if 991.2 and 991.1 parts were swappable. Did you have to do any kind of alteration on the front bumper? I remember reading the 991.2 tail light conversion thread that some holes for the screws of the rear bumper don't line up.

As usual, you'll have a small minority made up of haters, purist scrutinizers, and "poser" police in any modification thread that uses OEM parts from higher trims. Aero is aero, lots of people prefer the OEM look with parts that are already designed to be visually compatible and functional. Take for example how many Cayman owners upgrade to GT4 aero, nobody puts GT4 badging on the cars either. It's so common for Huracan and Gallardo owners to install Performante/Superleggera parts, but this issue of "posing" never seems to come up in the Lambo community. It's always the select few Porsche owners that hyperventilate about rice this, poser that, the blasphemy of yellow calipers with non-PCCB rotors, "it's already perfect from factory", and push their views to try to convince you that what you did was somehow wrong.

Anyway, I enjoyed the mods OP. Kudos for doing all the work yourself.

Well Said, Thank you! If i could like your post twice I would haha.

As for the front bumper, everything lined up except a few of the fender liner screws. I guess the GT Fender liner is a little different. But i secured enough screws where it's not going anywhere. And yes the 991.2 tail lights have one bolt that doesnt line up to the 991.1 crossmember/plate thing but its super secure with the other bolt and end clip thing.

Mods- Can I make "purist scrutinizer" my forum title?

Lol so much hate.... I dont get it. All of these mods are functional. Half of the threads I see in the 991 section are purely aesthetic type of modifications and everyone goes crazy about... Who cares what color your key fob or wheel caps are... lmao

If it wasn't for a few select individuals, OP included, we wouldnt have options like this to reference when time came for one of you to try an OEM part from a GT2/3/RS/T

Thanks for sharing. Every once in a while I get the urge to put the 991.1 GT3 front bumper on my GTS--I think it's just such a great look. Then I get afraid if I think about ever selling it and all the questions--was it in an accident? But then I don't think I'll ever get rid of it so who cares...and suppress the urge for a while. Still don't think I could ever justify doing it, but hat's off for having an idea and following through!

Thanks. I kept all my stock parts so if it ever came time to sell, i'll put it back to how it came and then sell the GT Stuff. They're all reversible upgrades.
