Default odd PDK behavior

Occasionally, maybe 1-2x monthly, my pdk will shift into 2nd gear from reverse and get "stuck" in that gear. Clicking the paddles up or down does not do anything. If I stop, shift to neutral or park, and back in drive, it will get back into 1 and shift normally. No other strange behavior, shifts completely normally otherwise. Brought to dealer, no codes stored and "could not replicate." I have a fidelity plat warranty so not worried in the long run, but wondering if anyone else has experienced similar behavior.

make sure when doing this you're outside so your neighbours can watch.

I would suggest when asking questions that you list year and model. I'm not going to ask what year your car is.

Huh? It's pretty clearly listed in my signature below. I would suggest you look at that.

I tried the "reset" method via the link above.... or atleast what was listed on the first post of that thread (the 3 min interval, a/c off then on). It may be placebo... but I think the 1-->2 shift is a little smoother? Idk, I'll keep you posted if the R-->2 gear change still happens.

Great general suggestion as not everybody has it in their signature - at least 991.1 or 991.2.

I have the same PDK issue since I've bought the car three years ago. Also happens 1-2 a month and usually when the car is at operating temperatures. It seems to happen more often after I change the gears manually with the paddles. The issue also occurs when I start the car after a drive, PDK is stuck in 2nd gear and will only change to 1st after setting it to R/N/P. The dealership couln't find any code, had never heard of this issue and couldn't replicate it. This post is actually the first time I've read someone is having the same issue!
My car is a 991.1 4S, MY03.2014

Hmm.. maybe because you're viewing from a phone? Not sure, chalk it up to a forum bug.
