Default 991 - sunroof leak and massive electrical issue? Help!

I have a 2013 991.1 Carerra with 24k miles. Yesterday while driving just about every possible electrical warning light went off - pcm, speedometer reading, garages, and a/c flickered on and off like rebooting every 2 minutes or so. Video attached. I Read forums and thought it might be a bad battery. I tested battery and it was borderline - dropped to 10.01 v at startup and read 12.45v initially. I think battery is not the issue. After dropping daughter off at school I reached into driver side footwell to pick up her backpack / the footwell is completely soaked. It had been raining like crazy recently. Headliner and side bolsters by pillar are suede and dry. I had thr metal sunroof wrapped in 3M black car wrap
recently. I opened sunroof and it it looks like part of the rear seal on drivers side is loose. Seems like it could be the culprit but 1. I don't know how the water traveled to floorboard without getting the headliner and inside pillar wet. 2. I don't know if this could be the reason for electrical issues.

the car is driving normally. Any help / advice appreciated.

That's a problem. Make sure your sunroof drains are also cleared with compressed air. Start blotting stuff dry, and get a fan running on the wet interior parts ASAP. Park in a heated garage if you can get into one, and crank up the heat.

Will do! Thank you for the reply. Any thoughts on if the electrical issue is a result of water? If so - wonder where the intrusion might have happened.

In addition to what Lex said, I would get a new battery. Water in cabin is no good, but lots of times every light goes on when the battery is low or dying.

Battery numbers don't look good in my opinion.

if thats your original battery, its wayyy past its life cycle which will show up with lots of weird electrical gremlins. As far as the water intrusions, you can try to see what seals are bad and fix. A good indy will most likely do a more thorough job.

Water will corrode the modules over time, identify what is wet so that you know what modules are suspect and you don't go in a wild parts chase in the future.

In the short term if you dry everything the car will likely go back to normal.

WOW.

How's the battery compartment?

Is there standing water in that area as well?

Sounds like a coincidence. A weak battery causes the christmas tree lighting you describe.

Do you have a recommendation on a good product for that? I would like to start doing the same, especially on my 996 with 20 year old rubber...

Aerospace 303 and Gummi Pflege, both great products.

i've used liquid wrench spray for years. Key is not to use to much as it collects dirt and dust typically. I think there are some that will avoid the collection issue. Silicone just keeps the rubber conditioned. You always want to avoid anything with petroleum distillates(VOC's) on rubber and plastic. Dries stuff out and cracks it. Tire gels, armor all and a lot of that garbage are bad for long term use for obvious reasons.
