Bye-Bye 991.1, hello 992
Porsche Bethesda (MD) just got in a high-spec 992 Cab S with manual transmission, so I decided to ride up there today and take a look at it I have been thinking Ferrari Portofino as a replacement to my 991.1 Cab S , but the cost of repair on those just kept getting in the way of my decision-making process. It didn't take long to swing back to Porsche, my salesperson (Christian who sold us a Macan S in August) said "Let me pull this out for you - go try it - I just ask that you don't put more than 5 miles on it". Hey, that was good enough for me. In 2 miles, I was sold. What a car! This is so far evolved from my 2014 991 S Cab that it seemed like it wasn't even related. This 992 car is seriously fast - when it hits 4K you better really be paying attention. This one also has PASM / PDCC / Rear Wheel Steering and I was blown away by that combination, . So I bought it. I can't wait to get this one out to Autocross, it's going to be killer. Was a hard nut on price negotiation, the first hour it was all MSRP, window sticker because there are none of these around anywhere. But they cracked a bit finally and bumped my trade up $ 1K and took $ 3,800 off the $ 159K sticker. Best of all, they wanted my '14 Carrera S with 28K miles on it and they will CPO the car. They're taking off my HRE Wheels and Tubi exhaust and returning them to me. I'll have those for sale here shortly once they call me to come get them.
Anyone want a primo 991.1 Cab S, my car is perfect and will be for sale there shortly. It's a low option 3-pedal car that is pretty hard to find. Not a thing needs attention on it - call Christian at the dealership. Will have the stock wheels and stock exhaust on it. Yes, I could have sold it for more here on Rennlist but you know - I don't want to deal with taking it in for PPI and nervous buyers. Just easier to trade it.
MEANWHILE,
This is now in my garage. And if you haven't tried one of these, you should! This is my 6th 911 in 43 years.

Thank you! I ogled that driving down the Pike at the far end of the showroom this weekend and was seriously thinking I needed to stop and look. You saved me a bundle!
More to the point- congrats! The is just superb. Perfect time for a new ride. Enjoy.

I've always thought the 911 cabs looked "wrong" relative to the coupes; in fact I vastly prefer the look of the 981 Boxster over the 911 for best-looking drop-top Porsche.
Until now. WHAT a sexy car. Congrats!
Also, I'm guessing those are the new RS Spyder wheels- they are an upgrade. Since getting a car with the RS's they've grown on me immensely- but these look better. For comparison-

Those wheels are killer. Never seen them. They look great with the red calipers.
Good job.
I have been thinking about a Fcar - Potifino or Cali T for my next car. I share your concern. Repairs are not for the faint of heart on those Ferraris.

Welcome to the 992 Cabrio club! XPel makes a lot of cool film protection for the car, including the center console which would be prone to scratches. I got the dealer to throw in full front, then I did the doors, kick panels, rear quarters, and console.
