OK. $1,500 each, then. Let it roll. If you are less risk adverse, do the same split with QQQ and VGT.

I got 3/36K on my 2012.5 for around $2700. I did it mostly since it is a first-year car and for the PDK. So far the car is solid in the 1.5 years/4K miles I've owned in (~30k total miles) my 4th car. If anything, it can make selling the car easier when I am done with it.

I recently paid $5500 for 7yrs/70k miles with $250 deductible for my 2014 c4s. Hopefully it will pay for itself in the end

From what insurance company did you get this coverage? And how many miles do you have on your car? Thanks.

Def an interesting topic. My 2018 GTS is still under factory warranty and had a water pump failure leading into valve block, vacuum lines and pump being changed. If not under warranty, would have been a nice sized bill. Making me thinking about buying aftermarket warranty now to extend

No warranty, and you hope the car doesn't exploded.

With warranty, and you want the PDK to eat itself from within.

It's a crazy paradox.

You go to the biggest & most beautiful cities the world over, and you'll notice the biggest & most beautiful buildings in those cities are insurance companies.

For those keeping score at home, VGT and QQQ were up nice yesterday.

5/60 for 3000$ is good deal too, how many miles you have?
Thanks for posting this. I just got off off the phone with Patriot and their initial quote they gave me was $4360 for 5yr/60k with $100 deductible. I told them about your post and they matched your pricing of $3400 for 6yr/75k with zero deductible. Curious how much homework you have done on Patriot and if you decided to purchase. I've been on the fence about getting a warranty but at same point the price becomes low enough it that makes sense for the peace of mind.

Ive been comparing fidelity and patriot.
SPoke w local dealer and indy and they both are willing to work with Fidelity or Patriot. The issue is the insurance companies actually pay out.
Patriot rep stated if they approve work, they will pay the shop directly. The issue is IF they approve. Patriot nor Fidelity could tell me 100% that they would cover the PDK. They just say we cover the the transmission so it should cover the PDK.

I did not purchase yet.

Lexvan is right - if I do buy the warranty Im hoping everything goes wrong with the car - PDK, electronics, sunroof, etc.

Well to be honest if they are so quick to lower their quote it gave me no peace of mind, tells me they just want whatever money you are willing to throw at them....

I learned that Patriot used to be Delta of of Philadelphia, (they are being sued by the states attorney in Pennsylvania, basically for taking peoples money and not paying claims) Google it, I found this out by their competition Ideal Auto.... the Ideal Auto Rep sent me emails and links, its dog eat dog in the warranty business and I'm staying away from all of them!

They all have negative reviews all about not paying claims, enough to scare me away, especially a PDK car, I dont think they would cover an "Automatic, Manual Clutch Transmission" (or something to that effect) as I saw written in one of their contracts.

So proceed at you're own risk, I'm going to self insure and my peace of mind is knowing I don't have to deal with these warranty companies or the dealerships that also want to take your money... I called two Porsche dealers in my area and neither one would recommend any aftermarket warranty companies.... nor were they familiar with the companies I asked them about.

Sorry to be so negative but this decision was made after hours of researching these companies...

YMMV... good luck..

I figure fidelity platnum as they have the best reputation. I read somewhere they cover PDK although I ave never heard of them actually paying for a PDK. I luckily have a MT.

Insurance companies exist to make money and not play claims but hey at least you have someone to sue and that will cost 10K so those are the numbers if the company is a dirtbag.

I have to agree with LexVan. Take your $5k, invest it wisely, and you'll have most repairs covered if needed. If not you get to keep your $5k and a tidy profit for mods!
