Thank you for all the replies!!

I have gotten quotes from Fidelity, which doesn't seem cheap when you factor in the deductible...

And Endurance, but they say they wont insure the cooling system... but a $100 deductible and a cheaper rate overall

If I'm paying thousands, not gonna go with a company that wont warranty most every system...

I can self insure, but I figure a grand or so a year isnt that bad on a older 991...

So any other warranty company suggestions?

Are you happy you did so, was it worthwhile to you?

Did you use it over the warranty period? Did you have a deductible?

I know many threads out there on warranties, would like to hear from folks who actually purchased one in the past or present.

TIA!

@Murphjup - Did you get a Fidelity quote from Michael Jourdan with 45% “Rennlist” discount?

About 50k miles, Contact them both for quotes, (not to be rude), but too many choices to say here, Fidelity was about 5k for 5 years at 500 deductible and Endurance about 500 less for 100 deductible but wont cover certain systems due to the age of my car... Location I'm sure also makes a difference etc...

Just as another data point, Fidelity Platinum 10yr/100K for car under 10k miles is $4800 with $250 deductible.

Yes I did, Nothing against Michael, but I find the deductibles to be the deal breaker for me, might as well self insure if most problems are gonna cost me $500 Deductible....

TIA!

Toying with the ideal of a Fidelity 3/36 for $2,675/250 or $2973/100 for my 12.5 991 C2S cab. Purchased in August with 13.6K on it with complete Porsche service records... local South Fla no weather car. Seems reasonable for 3K and 3 years of coverage (I'll never put 36k on it in 3 years). PDK is one of the reasons....I can afford to write a $15K check but for $1k/yr I might bite on the odds. If not used, I've thrown away more than $1k in a year on misc. "stuff"....that there was no potential of seeing any part of it back.

UPDATE: just purchased the 3/36 Plat/100/ded from Michael Jourdan for the above quoted price...EASY AND WITHOUT AN ISSUE...

Never kept a car long enough for an extended warranty to make sense, and when you factor in deductibles/exclusions, almost makes more sense to just self-insure. When dealerships are making most of their front of the house money in the finance dept selling use extended warranties and the like, that ought to tell you all that you need to know. However, if you intend to keep for a long time, YMMV.

We think alike, That's a good quote it sounds like, that would be a no brainer for me, for my car with 48K miles the quote is $4111 for 3/36 250, I'm considering longer like 5/60 as well brings the rates down and I agree for about a $1000-$1200 a year, not that bad, I blow that easy as well...lol

Where did you get your quote?

I should start a Group Buy.

100 Rennlist Members required
$4,500 each
No deductible
Unlimited mileage

I could then finally get the GT3 and just pay the crazy ADM to be first in my neighborhood.

On a PDK car, I would buy an extended warranty. The $10k+ repair I would not be ok with. On a manual car, I would probably risk it and not buy one.

Typically though, people that are happy they got a warranty had the warranty pay out for them. Those that aren't happy did not have to use the warranty. Warranty does help me sleep better at night though. I do not get a warranty for things like wheel and tire. I will pay that out of pocket as they happen.

I am 19 months into a 6 year 72k warranty that started when I bought a 2009 TT cab with 33k miles in May 2019.The peace of mind is well worth it.It has already paid back about 3k for water pump and cv joint issues.
