Brake Fluid selection, does it matter?
Hi Everyone
is there a right and wrong dot 4.0 fluid to be used on our cars?
Porsche stuff is $44.00,per litre wanted something cheaper, but looks like there is not much savings.
I was thinking of buying something from amazon such as:

You don’t have to use the Porsche stuff but different fluids have different boil point and some absorb water faster, so don’t go cheap and buy high quality fluid to stop your $100k car.
audi brand is an alternative.

Technically the OEM Porsche fluid is a DOT4, LV, class 6
Something about the low viscosity better for the ABS. Per suncoast recommended on all 2005 and newer.
Autozone sells it by the liter or you can get a 5L bottle of pentosin that meets the specs for $35 from FCP euro.
But most people seem to ignore it and use any high quality dot4 without issues.

the standard dot4 is all pretty similar temp wise
the LV is 'thinner' and supposedly reacts more quickly to electronic systems
For track use you want to use a high temp fluid. I've used Endless RBF650 and currently use Brembo HTC64T in my other cars. The 991 gets Pentosin. Motul is good, Castrol SRF is good.
These newer cars have so much heat and braking capacity the issue of 'fade' while real is diminished. But, drive my 71 aggressive and yeah, you want GOOD fluid on that thing, the brakes can swamped quickly.

And always use from a fresh, unopened, bottle.

Any DOT 4 LV should be fine. Doesn’t have to be Pentosin, but needs to be LV.

The Porsche canister is identical to that of pentosin. I’d bet pentosin.
porsche Motorsports did run endless. They may still or they may run Brembo htc64t
