T or GTS
Test drove one proper T this week (mt ras buckets). As a current owner of gts, if a t owner has similar spec to my car(mt full leather int ras pccb no roof blk led) plus buckets, i'd trade it even. But I haven't seen such a T yet. And I doubt the owner would want to trade.
The manual 991.2 Carrera lags. I had a highly modded manual 991.2 gts. Sold it for a highly modded 997 gt3 and couldn't be happier. I agree, the t and gts are great cars but the gt3 is more exciting. Just my .02...

I agree. There is lag at low RPM in these cars, even with the smallest turbo, and all turbos. The good news is at high RPM there is almost none, if not none. Of course you dig your car. You have arguably one of the greatest engines ever put in a road car, with character and tone beyond even the current motorsport engine. GT cars are in a different conversation, especially from Porsche's golden years. I've wanted a 2011 RS for years.

I even noticed substantial lag between shifts in the upper rpms at Sebring and Daytona. I'm a pretty good with a manual and had a full numeric setup (shifter and cables). If I ever go 991.2 again it will be PDK because of this.

[QUOTE=flsupraguy;16782172]I raced both the manual and PDK GTS at Barber. Both were a lot of fun, but I found the manual to be a little less responsive engine-wise in transient conditions. I don’t know if the manual gets the same sort of anti-lag programming in sport + as the PDK. I chose the PDK for that reason as well better performance once modified.
Yes turbo always has lag compared to NA motor esp for the init stomping, and non gt cars in general just can't touch the peak that gt car has. The beauty of T is that it just has adequate power( that you feel it's pretty fast but don't have to worry about being in prison speed within 3 seconds like gts or turbo/ts with even less time ) for spirited street driving, and the fine balance point it hits between being visceral & refined, makes it perfect for driving it around & having fun all the time. 997 gt cars def are great for pure drive, but it would be kind of pita/not ideal to drive it everywhere all the time(also would be kind of waste imo). T's broad usability really shines. And when driving it hard on proper back roads, the character of that 3.0T motor/the chassis dynamics/the cabin noise/the shifter feel makes me forget any non GT na 911s. It is SWEET!
