Cobb Pro-tune/APR tune Dragy results

I would like to know the cost and time it took to install both tunes
Final end cost of APR installed?
Final end cost Cobb unit with Pro-tune?
I feel it's one topic no one talks about when comparing both, pricing should be considered as I'm sure there's a big difference between a flash and putting a car on a dyno with the extra cost of the Cobb unit

About 2x the cost vs a tailored mapping with Cobb.
The costs is one thing to consider, but more importantly for me, day to day drivebility and how the car helps make you a faster driver aka puts the power down is much more valuable.

Reached out to Mitch. He has my original "beast" tune, the one he worked on for hours on the dyno in NJ. He says he knows the problem, so he has my protune in hand to tweak.
Let's see how it compares to the others when it can finally make a clean 3-4th shift without having the boost turned down..

And to be clear I expect a lot more from a pro-tune/dyno time tune than just 2 or 3 hp difference. And let's not talk about all the pro tuners that know it all and can do no wrong and those that play with the numbers just to make you feel good. There's a whole of them out there
I've seen the APR video sometime ago on how they tune the cars with over 40 sensors, dyno runs, track tested and real street test but I have yet to see anything from Cobb. To me that's more important than just throwing out a bunch of tunes and telling you just to try them out and see which one feels better to you.
Please lets compare apples to apples and start with real cost

Ok, let's get into this a little.
I have Kline cats, Kline Exhaust, Kline Headers. ALL headers will give you some additional power somewhere, different manufacturers headers produce power in slightly different areas.
If you want to know which Header to buy, search on these forums and get ready for a long read and debate. In the end, I chose Kline 2 years ago and would choose them again today.
I also have HRE lightweight wheels and DSC Module, but they are offset by a 50lb Subwoofer and a 215lb driver.
Back to the APR vs Cobb Tune debate..
I would love to compare Cobb's original Stage 2 OTS Map with APR's current stage 2 OTS Map. That to me would be the most fair apples to apples comparison.
The reason why all of these more recent Pro Tunes aren't "impressive" is because they are all based on the current OTS maps which have been castrated by Cobb to solve the flutter issue.
What Pro Tuners dont tell you is that your Pro Tune starts as a Stage 1 or Stage 2 OTS map. They don't reinvent the wheel and start from scratch, they start with an OTS map and tweak it.
So, how does a Current Pro Tune compete with an all out APR OTS tune? Very close because todays Cobb OTS is intentionally restricted and the APR tune is not.
Pro Tuning will improve on the base OTS map, but who knows what tables Cobb changed and how to reverse them? So, the improved "castrated" Pro tune should be a wee bit better than APRs OTS map.
HOWEVER... I still have my original Pro Tune based on the original aggressive Cobb OTS maps. If Mitch has indeed figured out the flutter problem and has not lowered the boost, then we will have a better idea of what the Cobb Pro Tune CAN potentially do, rather than what it can currently do. Mitch just sent me the revised/corrected tune. I will try and find some time tomorrow to let it rip and do some Dragy runs. I will post back and we can see what the results are and If the flutter is gone..
