It was not that hard to loom the wires through. Be careful not to over tighten the plate when you reinstall it. If you do the horn will sound with the slightest input - including turning the wheel.

[QUOTE=Soul Performance;16538972]Is anyone doing any DIYs on SOUL components? Post them up! I'll PM you for your address and shoot you over a SOUL t-shirt in your size

John - The Soul install was my first COVID-19 project! Wasn't planned as such, but that was how it turned out. Hope all is well.

Good to know. I was curious about how much play I needed to give it. There are so many little details like that which aren't included in the GPS instructions.

Default Replace stripped aluminum oil plug

When I changed oil in October before hibernation, I stripped the aluminum plug but left it to repair in the spring -- there was no oil leaking as the plug just got to torque spec before stripping. I thought better to replace now because I did not want heat cycles or oil wear to make it more difficult later. I used a chisel and heavy hammer to loosen.

I swear my original plug was steel. I might go back to that just to avoid this again.

Funny thing was, I only lost about 3/4 quart of oil in the plug transition. At 50 degrees, Mobil 1 5W50 didn't spill out like at engine operating temp.

That is pure talent on your part to get that plug swapped out with such little oil loss!

I have only seen aluminum plugs and that goes back to the 996 I had. I always keep a few on hand and swap them out if it starts to look distorted. They are cheap and readily available. I'll bet that some people treat them like the crush rings and put in a new one each time.

Finally tackled the engine intake air filter swap. I'm glad I did, because they were very dirty and full of debris, feathers, leaves, etc. My car is a 2016 with 20k miles and new to me. Clearly this is the first time they were changed! Really not as bad a job as I anticipated. The bummer cover is easy to remove, just a bunch of torx screws. Next up are wipers, cabin filters, oil and filter change, PDK pan filter, gasket and fluid!

We did all this when we bought my '16 gts minus the PDK stuff. Hmmm... Wonder if we should tackle that next?

I think it’s 4 years or 40k miles but what the heck. The kit is $650!

Dang... Mine is a '16 with 26k, based on age, sounds like I may need to do it.

Hummmm. Still bored. Still in CV-19 lockdown. Should I do this during the extended holiday weekend? Less than 2 pounds each.:

If anyone needs ideas for projects, I ordered a new cowl cover from Suncoast. These things don't seem to last and need occasional refresh, I haven't installed it yet, but I only anticipate pulling off the wipers and snapping the new one on. Hopefully I'll get some time off this weekend to get it on.
