Hello fellow Enthusiasts.
I purchased a 991.2 base w/16k miles CPO. It's my second, the last was a .1s vert that I loved and was trouble free for 30k miles when I traded it. Bought the .2 for the 3.0 turbo tune friendly platform. I do not track or abuse the car and have barely even done much spirited driving in the 1k miles I've had it. It's also not a daily, I have 2 other cars.
The car is under warranty till 5/2022 so I can get it fixed for free. But my question for you all is should I be concerned that such a young and seemingly well cared for car has a water pump leak at only 17k?
Any input is appreciated.

Water pump seems to be a problem with MY 2017 and some 2018s. Don’t know how widespread. My C4S is a 2018, manufactured and delivered in 2017. My car hasn’t had a single discernible problem in 2.5 yrs,13.5k miles. The water pump is fine. So n = 1, all is fine.
Appreciate the feedback. My confidence in the brand isn't shaken, was just questioning this particular car. As though it'd taken considerable abuse or something to cause the water pump to have issue. That other .2's have had the same issue is actually reassuring
...if that makes sense.
Thx!!

Mine failed just after purchasing my car used (within 100 mi with 12K on the clock). Still under warranty had it fixed at the dealer. Porsche and the dealership were great and so far no re-occurring problems (although some here report second failures).
Whatever you do, do not drive your car if your are getting small coolant puddles under the car. Mine went from a puddle to a gusher while they were loading the car on the flatbed to the dealership. I suspect the potential re-occurrence of failures may have happened to folks who had catastrophic failures while driving the car (so more than just the pump may have been damaged).
My water pump was changed by my local dealer on a preventive basis They told me they new it was going to fail "eventually" so they decided to be proactive.... my car is a 991.2 Base Cabrio 2017
Mine went at 14k, CPO so it was done at the dealer
This is what mine looks like for now...not taking any chances.
