Default Help me get rid of the Oval 991.2 tips

I am in search of my first 911 and have decided on getting a 991.2 Base Carrera my issue is the oval exhaust tips, do the car no justice.

I have researched and found two options:

OEM Tips Sport Tailpipes - Silver - Porsche (991-044-200-20) $816.04
Or
Fabspeed 991.2 Carrera Deluxe Quad Tips are $695.95

My issue is that's a ton of money for something this is just simply for looks and is only stainless steel. Has anyone found any other possible options that would work and not break the bank?

The one unfortunately still question remains unanswered is "Will quad 997 tips also work on the 991.2?"

Might just have to buy the guinea pig and try...

Oval?

My base ‘17 C2 non-pse has four round tips. I’d have to go look at my build sheet but I’m pretty sure this is Factory.

^ Yep, that was an option, in black (as you have it) or chrome. I think it was $950, which seemed to me steep given that it was 1/3 of PSE for some tips. Then again, I prefer this look and (as time has gone on...) sound. Looks like it's one of those options that is actually more expensive to get on the car than after the fact.

I would not be too sure of that. The Black Chrome dual center tips that came with the PSE on my 2019 are almost $900 if one were to buy them from Porsche so those are probably at least as expensive if not more since there are twice as many tips!

Gotcha.

I looked at my build sheet and it’s an option, "Sport Tailpipes in Black", option code "XLP". I had the chrome on my Cayman S and was forever removing soot. I wasn’t sure I was going to like black but I vastly prefer these. (And it’s always puzzled me why the non-pse has four tips, but the pse has two...I would have thought the other way around.

Same tips on my 991.2 non-PSE. It is a $950 factory option. The four pipes were included with the PSE on the 991.1. Keeps us on our toes to keep track of things. I think they look great, much nicer than the ovals!

I’d love to have quad tips, but $120 for a ceramic coating on the ovals must do for now!
