Thanks for the update. This might push me to finally do this. Having a gap at the back has kept me from from trying this but it looks like heating up the plastic and bending it slightly removes most if not all the gap.

The rear gap has nothing to do with heating up the plastic. The rear gap is 100% dependent on where you make that hole from the mudflap to the sideskirt. The heating and bending for 12 plus hours helps with the rest of the gap along the length of the sideskirt because it hugs the car a lot tighter.

I just happened to park next to a 991.2 GTS at a local C&C and was able to capture the differences in the mounting setup on the 2 cars which validates why it is so challenging trying to try and add sideskirts to the narrow body.

Main takeaway after looking at the GTS setup.........

Yes it is doable on the narrow body as others have shown but NO, it will never look as clean as on the GTS, Targa, etc. Why? Because the rocker panels in those cars are right angled and designed to accept the side skirt whereas the rocker panel on the narrow body has rounded edges which makes it almost impossible to get a clean zero gap line between the side skirt and the rocker panel. It still looks good on the narrow body and 99% folks won't be able to tell it's "made to fit" vs it "belongs"

991.2 S on left vs 991.2 GTS on the right. Both have the GTS side skirt. Notice how the side skirt continues under the side skirt along the full length of the rocker panel on the GTS vs on the S where it has to be pressed against the rocker panel and can't go totally under it. This is because the rocker panel on the S is a lot taller then the GTS and also it's curved vs right angled on the GTS.

991.2 GTS on the left vs 991.2 S on the right. Both have the GTS side skirt

991.2 S on left vs 991.2 GTS on the right. Both have the GTS side skirt

991.2 S Front Left Driver's side - Notice how the rocker right behind the tire is long in height, curved and extends a long way down. The side skirt lines up and installs ON it and not BELOW it like the GTS.

991.2 GTS Front Right Passenger side - The rocker right behind the tire is a lot shorter and straighter. The side skirt starts BELOW it and not ON it like on the S

991.2 GTS Rear Passenger side - Notice how the the side skirt is installed UNDER the rocker panel and the mudflap is integrated under the side skirt. Also notice how the side skirt continues under the rocker panel along the full length of the rocker panel.

991.2 S Rear Driver's side - Notice how the mudflap is located behind the side skirt and not under it like the GTS. Also notice how the side skirt is only under the rocker panel initially and then starts to rise up and butts against (vs under) the rocker panel along the full length of the rocker panel.

I am not going to post a full DIY as plenty have posted that before me. Instead I will post what NOT to do and what I did different to achieve a similar or perhaps better result.

I'm assuming you used the 991.2 GTS skirt vs. the 991.1? I just scrolled back like 5 pages and all I've found is mention of the 991.1 skirts. I thought the .1 and .2 had different mounting points, so I don't think they're interchangeable but I could be wrong. Mind sharing the part number of yours?

Yes. I looked at 991.2 GTS/Targa. IMO the GT3 ones look like they don't belong on a narrow body. Below are the part numbers.

Always order from @getPorscheSilverSpringParts Been using them for 14 years. Best price.

Subscribed to this thread for a long time , still can’t make up my mind in going gt3 or gts… decisions. Any how. I guess with in this topic, have anyone tried this rear bumper lip? In a 991.2? I wonder if it would work in a .2…

1st don’t by then from EBay, they are designed by@EMC2 here on board so get them directly from guy who designed them.

2nd they are working on a .2 version, somewhere in the last few pages of this thread you can see pics of the .2 version, I think the look much better than .1 versions and would compliment the OEM side skirts very much. https://rennlist.com/forums/991/1332...lled-pics.html

Finally done ✔️ amazing how a little strip of plastic changes the look of the car, looks so much better in person than in pictures. Thank you @polobai for being the OG with this idea and how to. And @Ahmad310 @9Gyarah and everyone else for all your tips. I did found out one thing, not sure if I miss it somewhere, but why didn’t anyone used the front lower fender well screw for the skirt too? Seems to hold just fine no need to make new wholes or add 3M doble sided tape. See pic below. Also I was able to use all plastic screws that came with the skirt with the exception of the two on the back, no need for new screws, of course except for the rear mod flap.

Looks amazing! Always loved the look of your car with those 992 style wheels and this only makes the car look better! Which method did you use to attach skirt at rear near the mudflap?

@gabster Looks great. Can you please confirm specifically (what model 911and generation .1 or .2) which side skirts you used? There are so many different ones being discussed in this thread it's hard to keep up.
