Default 911r diffuser installed on 991.2 carerra t

Good afternoon-I've decided to take the plunge and make it fit! Teaser pics below-and yes it has to be modified to work (nothing too crazy) but will do a full write up on this thread shortly. Now for pics-super stoked on how it came out!

I'd love to see the modifications needed. I have a 991.1 and curious if it would be similar.

It should work on the 991.1 with similar or less modification. I can say two of the only downsides I can see is that the fins are now the lowest point of the car, and I dont know how the plastic fins on the end will react to the heat from the turbochargers...only time will tell!

Here are some more details-the main unit is made of aluminum and is very light. The fins are plastic and secured with aluminum rivets.

Very lightweight

Sweet. Nice work. The oem center muffler section looks to have a similar transition as well. That's ideal for the aero. When you change to a smaller muffler or bypass with that diffuser it changes the airflow a lot. Supposedly.

Yes, i think this mod works best with the OEM muffler in place. I saw a pic with someone that has a bypass and there is a big void to fill...

It also looks like it would require some cutting if you are running stock or catted downpipes. Pictures make it look really close to the catless down pipes.

It would be pretty close with stock or aftermarket cats for sure and may require some trimming. Lots of room with the cat bypasses in place (more than enough). Also would be close with equal length headers such as vectors that hang close or below the rear
crossmember.

Here are some pics of the modifications. First, the diffuser sits on the rear cross member and it was hanging too low for my liking. It could physically work like this but my car is too low so I wanted more clearance and it would flow better with it more level-so I cut 1/2 inch off the lip to have it sit flatter:

Cut about 1/2 inch off where the green tape is (quarter inch fine line tape so you have an idea)this way it sits flatter

Afterwards

did you consider using a 2018-2019 GT3 diffuser?

Very cool! Any more photos? Maybe from the rear at a distance?

AFAIK the only difference is a cutout in the diffuser for the newer RS oil pan which won't do any of us good.

Correct-I didn't want the cut out in the diffuser for the oil pan. I thought about drilling a hole for the oil drain but I figure once a year I can just remove the diffuser to drain the oil and inspect everything there for leaks (I have it secured with 4 bolts-super easy to come off).
