Owned a GT350, sold it and now own a 19 Bullitt, it actually has more torque down low, a Muscle car AND a sports car is my happy spot, also own a Jeep Gladiator, so I get your post!

This had me rolling, but I can see my self keeping this 14 C2S, but since it's a daily driver, I may down the line have to plunk into a 992 when they offer 7 spd manual option. The braun shaver looking shifter for the pdk is god aweful looking, but the rest of the redesign on it I'm good with.

If money were not a blocker, then GT3 RS, but I think the experience of owning any 911 model is probably special for a lifetime.

My manual .1S is a keeper. I’ll put a couple hundred thousand miles on it then pay to restore. I upgrade trucks regularly but have no desire to drive a different 911.

Talk to me about the Bullit- love that car and would love to add it to my stable as well (LMK if you wanna sell). Would also love to add low mile 991.1S manual to my current manual 997 which i'v had for going on 15 years and still love. Drove a 991.2 PDK , wasn't impressed - reminded me of my friends Infiniti Q60 red sport (3.0 turbo 400HP) -leases it for about $480 a month and I'm sure would give the +991.2 a run for the money at almost a third of the cost (but of course, its not a "Porsche").

I've never laughed harder in the entirety of my life. Thank you. If that's how much of a nose you have for good cars, I'd suggest you don't spend more than $30k on one. Ever.

The vette is permanent, as a 70 Chevelle convertible I’ve had since 1987.

My 1988 911 is one that comes to mind.

I always that my two 930s would be but both are now gone.

My 2.0 well sorted 914 was among the best street driving cars I have ever owned. Light, nibble and quick. Balance, blue printed 2.0 engine and suspension mods for POC racing I drove it to work and raced on weekends. An amazing car now long passed.

Today my 1997 Chevy Silverado is likely a forever car/truck. But for fun and after a dozen plus 911s the 88 is among if not the best for a keeper driver. It checks all the boxes of fun, sporty.

I get bored easily so I rarely keep my toys for more than a few years. As I get older I come to enjoy the pure driving joy of no power brakes or steering. Light, smooth power of a flat six 3.2 with no cats, sport exhaust and a steve wong chip. Nothing more pure than that.

Grasshopper, the problem is not what car to keep a lifetime, rather in finding a garage big enough to make the first problem irrelevant.

the Bullitt with the Magneride suspension handles better than you might think, not as good as a 911 obviously but quite well!
it sounds amazing, redlines at 7800 and is all day comfortable. It’s more of a Grand Tourer (GT) than a true sports car of course.
I think of it as a muscle car that handles almost as well as a sports car. The paint is very deep and the color in the sun is gorgeous. Shifts like butter but the clutch doesn’t engage until the pedal is almost fully out, takes some getting used to. Bottom line it’s one of the last V8 manuals you can buy, I recommend it.

as far as the 991.2, I’d be bored too tears with a PDK, many love them just not for me

The best bit of wisdom in this thread. Every time I drive my wife's 2010 Lincoln MKX I am shocked by how poorly a vehicle can handle.
