Hi. I'm about to pull the trigger on a CPO 2017 991.2 Carrera. I've been reading as much as I can and only issue I've seen so far is water pumps going bad. Anything else contributing to unreliability of the car that I need watch out for? I'm planning to make this my daily driver.
Saying you have CPO is kinda a douchey response. As your primary DD you dont want the hassle of going to the dealer with issues all the time. Well actually No one does but when its your toy its not such a big deal to be without it cause you have others to drive.

Given the reliability of the 991.2, he probably won't be going to the dealer with issues all the time.
It may be a douchey response but it is none the less the best response. A car is a machine and machines break down occasionally. Porsches tend to have excellent reliability so unless you want your DD to be a Toyota a Porsche 911 is as good as any other choice and a lot more enjoyable.

I agree, just because one has a warranty it does not mean one wants to be at the dealer often. But as Hurricane stated, other than the water pumps and a few reported squeaks/rattles I cannot really think of other any other issues reported here in the Fourms, and if there were you can bet they would have turned up here!

Spot on!
On my 2018 C2, 4 coolant leaks @ 5K miles which took 3 water pumps to fix... I guarantee you it was the same issue & they just figured it out. At 3K miles my Glass top made a clicking sound while opening... fixed under warranty. My headliner clips along the rear window are have come separated 3 X, I was asked to be careful not to bump it...seriously... warranty.
In the middle of my water pump deal last winter, a 30 second whiney noise started and comes on from the passenger side top of the engine area, when you turn off the ignition. I was told it is just engine noise from the Dealer mechanic. I'm having a second mechanic look at it in a couple of weeks. The sound is actually pretty embarrassing when I pull into the garage. I posted two threads in regards to the noise & got mixed feedback.
Having said all that... I love it. Some cars have bugs, some don't. My 1st 7 cars I have owned, had zero problems with. It's just the law of averages sometimes. It pains me to say, I'm actually selling it now (It's a Beautiful Agate / Agate) or possibly trading in for a 2018-19 New Targa 4S, (I don't dig the 992 interior or I would wait & build my own..) Unfortunately its slim pickings. I'm hoping to have the noise resolved if I sell it to a person.
I have 22k miles on my 2018. No issues. Water pump fine so far. I think you are good and it will be as reliable as any Toyota, Hyundai or Honda. No worries.
The only problem with this car is I want to buy another one...seems like a pretty solid car. I want MORE!
For reference, I have just shy of 20K and 2 years of daily driving it and the water pump and a related issue that caused overheating; both fixed pretty quickly and I had a loaner to play with.
Not reliability issues, but (expensive) cosmetic things to look for include warping of the tops of the door panels, front and rear windshield rubber "melting", headlight delamination, and other things that should all be covered under CPO.
