Wireless CarPlay working
Rec'd today and can't get it to work. It is supposed to be the correct unit. The problem I'm having is my Iphone X doesn't see it in BT. the car see's it but when I go to CarPlay I get what you see below. Any ideas, I have contacted their after sales service, but no response yet.

Yes, you'll need a firmware update. I received mine today and the screen is in English on mine (it says "connecting). The seller is in Singapore so you won't hear anything until later tonight, but they are very responsive. You can probably still get it to connect because, as the instruction says, it might take a few tries. Just follow the directions that came with it paying attention to the red and blue light. That said it works pretty good with a couple of issues that I'll be contacting the seller about.
Take a look at the end of the dongle (the end with the USB input jack) when doing the initial connection. It'll blink red while it's connecting to Bluetooth, and when that's done the same light will blink blue while it's connecting to WiFi.There's nothing you can do when this is going on but at least you can monitor what steps it's going through. It took mine 3 tries before finally successfully connecting. As per the instructions, you'll need to delete the dongle's Bluetooth profile between tries.

Just tested it tonight and it worked on the first try! Is there a way to tell what firmware version the dongle is on? Any benefit to updating to the latest firmware version?
Only had a chance to test some music and audio quality seemed great, couldn’t tell that it was different vs. plugged in. Thanks to the OP for sharing this product. 👍🏼

I guess I'm going to have to ask AZ for a refund. Carlin got back to me and said to try mode 3 and unplug and re-plug but that still didn't work. By the way I tried mode 3 several times yesterday. I realize I'm old and slow but this sh*! is frustrating.
P.S. would someone with a working unit verify the model number. mine is U2W-01-PLUS. Thanks

One has to ask, why doesn't Qualcomm or NetGear make this dongle? They have the technology to do it and far better than some sweatshop in Southeast Asia. Certainly the market is there. At the end of the day, it has to do with the difficulties of making it work across different platforms, making it secure and making it safe. In one horror scenario you are driving along and the radio comes on full-blast without warning, you wreck, you get litigated (remember where you live) and the manufacturer of the dongle is not returning the attorney's calls.
I want this to work as much as anyone, but I have my reservations.
Are you connecting to the device's WiFi network? If not you’ll never get past the black screen. You only need to connect to it via Bluetooth the first time to complete the initial set up. After that it should auto connect to the device's WiFi network and the Porsche PCM's Bluetooth.
