While I love my 6 speed 2012 GTS and PDK 2015 GTS, adding an Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio has been a revelation. I love driving a 911, but if I think about my garage, and which car excites me the most to go jump in and drive hard, it's the Alfa. I
A test drive just doesn't explain it.

“How many people who own a 991 have had a series of true sports cars? How many have owned other interesting cars but their 991 is the only sports car in their series?”
I’ve owned many sporty coupes and including Jags and BMWs but my 991.1 GTS is my first sports car (although some on here believe its more touring than sport).
The GTS has ruined me. I was a sports sedan guy until that purchase.

Nothing. I have what I consider a perfect compliment of 911s. A 991.1 GTS PDK cab for daily driving and for trips up the coast and to wine country. And a GT3 Touring for the weekends and...for trips up the coast and to wine country. Eeny meeny miny moe....

I'm replacing the Ferrari with a 911. At first I thought the quirkiness of the cigarette smoking, wine drinking Italians was unique and something I might enjoy. The Ferrari is a very pretty car. But my god, after a few years of that, I just can't take it anymore. Super happy with my decision so there doesn't appear to be anything in my mind that will replace it right now. As the electric cars improve battery development, I can see the Taycan being a viable option.

I know this question is from August so not sure if you’ve done anything yet, but I keep my 911 for nice weather and weekends, and daily a 2017 Ford Fusion Sport V6 TT which gets about 35k miles a year. I’m probably going to replace it with something else since Ford isn’t making them past 2019, so leading with a 1 year old CPO Audi S5 Sportback or just go used Audi A6 3.0T Sport or Competition. Both can be had for right around $40k with very low miles.

The best sports cars I've had have been been motorcycles. But in terms of driver engagement the 911 isn't too bad in comparison.
