It all comes down to DD duties and how bad you want the GT3. If you are going to track it a lot and want the novelty, get the GT3. If it’s between a 991.1 GTS, I’d get the GT3 in a heart beat but it doesn’t seem to be the case. If it’s speed you’re looking for, a 991.2 GTS is faster than a 991.1 GT3 on and off the track, I believe.

.1 GT3 with sofas for a daily would be a great car ... if you can live with the wing everywhere you go. I couldn’t but that’s me.

Some interesting feedback!

I'm not bothered about the back seats - I just need to move around my Weimaraner and my girlfriend and her carry on suitcase most of the time. I'm sure she can fit in the back with or without seats... ;-)

I'm going to try the 991.1 GT3 on Monday.

I have a feeling that I might end up chasing the higher revs in the GT3, with the resulting higher speeds. Then again, more track days would probably get that out of my system.

The 991.2 GTS seems like the way I should go and especially where it's daily use far more than track use. For my budget I can get one with 1,500 miles, 18 months old, RAS, PDCC, PCCB, PSP, Lane Change Assist, 18-way seats, LED lights, etc, etc, etc... Or a 991.1 GT3 with about 10K miles, 5 years old with FAL, which I think might be more of an event, but do I need quite such an event when driving a mile to my office. ;-) The drive on Monday will be interesting.

Finding that a GT3 was in reach for around the same cost as the GTS got me thinking that it would be great to have one, but I guess the question is whether it's the right choice or if I'd actually get more out of the GTS when it will get road use for the vast majority of the time.

A while back coming from 991.1 GTS I compared it to 991.2 GTS and ended up with ..................... a TTS
The point here, for me the little turbo did not win even against 3.8 NA. However, real Turbo won. Since GT3 has 4.0 NA it is sure would be my choice vs 991.2 GTS.

I'm comparing the 991.2 GTS against the 991.1 GT3, which has a 3.8 NA engine.

Oh, I misread it. My mistake. However, even 991.1 GTS in my case kept it's dominance over 991.2 due to the overall higher level of driving fun mostly originated from that NA engine and it's RPMs and sound. GT3 is a step-up.

I sold my 991.1 GT3 partly because it felt so anemic. The 991.2 GT3 engine is a huge improvement. That said, if I could have only one of the cars it would be the 991.2 GTS. I have one, and it's much faster and more fun than the 991.1 GT3.

If you track often and plan to adjust camber and ride heigh, sway bar, etc to dial in everything for optimal track performance the GT3 is your friend.

For anything else, the GTS.
Incorrect.

Personally I would find the GT3 too harsh and noisy for the roads here daily. I also like to road trip my cars and it would prob be too harsh for that as well. But that's me, one of my friend daily drives a GT3 and loves it. What I'm saying is that it all depends on your tolerance and how you drive the car. You can also have fun on a track with a base C2 and it will be cheaper to run. For me it has to be fun daily and not tiring. you may be different. If it was a specific track toy, well that's a diff story.

I had the same dilemma beginning of the year. I got a 2015 GT3 and no regrets. Not a daily car but more open road driving.

Wouldn't a DSC module take care of some of that?

BUT , Porsche elevates ALL their cars in fantastic ways with their .2 methodology and to get a GTS to preform like a GT3 (previous version) is amazing.

The GTSi is such a great all around package. With your options, the .2 GTS.
