Agreed we got my wife a GTS Boxster GTS put on headers, IPD and a custom Tune from TPC. The car was faster than a GT4 sounds amazing, is reasonably priced and more fun to drive everywhere but the track versus the GT3.

Dont get me wrong given the opportunity I would have my GT3 T back it has what I believe to be the best drive train of any car I have ever driven. However for now multiple 911’s does not make sense to me.

I should have specified - 987 cayman But the 981 is such a better all around car. I'm testifying that image aside, the older 987s with the mods I mentioned are more visceral and raw than anything new you can get for a fraction of the cost. Many of us would be happier if we forgot about the prestige and exclusivity of a GT car and chased the experience we are really seeking.

This is why I have a heavily modded 991.1 PDK and a heavily modded 987.2 manual. They are dialed in perfectly to the emotional experience I want from each. And I don't care what else is available that is faster

Congrats OP. I think you will love it.

I just sold a 991.1RS and bought a .2 GTS to DD. For a lot of track duty the GT3's are phenominal cars. On the street...they are pretty boring. Their capability doesn't even begin to shine until you push them...hard. That is at insane speeds on public roads.

The GTS is a MUCH better street car with all the comfort and torque you could want. I enjoy getting into it every morning and while not as sharp as a GT3, I don't necessarily want that driving to the store. It's all about how you actually use the car and what makes YOU happy.

Funny I have a similar stable. 987.2 R and a heavily modified 991.2 GTS. Cant say I like one car better than the other. Two different driving experiences

I’ve just finished a run along the autobahn. There was quite a bit of traffic but it still managed 280kph (about 174mph) and I’ve no doubt the magic 300kph will be achieved. It felt perfectly stable and eats the miles up cruising at around 125mph.

Loving it.

In the hands of a capable driver, the 991.2 Carrera 4 GTS is amazing on track. I typically pull away from the GT3s coming out of the turns. Now, in the case of a track with a long straight or two.....yes, the GT3 will pull past. This is the case at COTA (for me).

Not such a “big ****” fan myself...but I can see the benefit to having one...

I found this same thing to be true with our modified 991.2 GTS at COTA; it would pull them out of the corners and if it revved to 8800 RPM I think it would pull away but the power band on the GT3 is long and wide and it pulls all the way down the straights! They're both truly amazing cars. I have a decent dyno comparison too!

That might be a bit beyond a standard GTS.

Might not be. Targa GTS with passenger hit 300kph

300kph is below it’s top speed - 322kph is a bit above it’s top speed, Assuming its top speed is 194mph. Probably nothing that a Litchfield tune wouldn’t sort out.

What? I was there last weekend for the NASA Great Lakes Event. Did you see a Carmine GTS there?

I broke in my car on the way up from KC to Chicago and it was very nice on a long trip compared to the GT3 T.

I think he was taking about “the autobahn”, the highways in Europe. Not Autobahn, the race track! LOL. I don’t think anyone is hitting 174mph at Autobahn the race track in any 911, in the full track config, definitely not when the track is split.
