Silicon lubricant will (likely) be a temporary fix. I know, because I've done the same thing to the same location.
It might present as a noise from that specific location, but it is still related to the pads being either missing, misaligned or worn in some strange way.
There is definitely a reason that Porsche issued the bulletin that Joec500 posted above!

Sadly if you’re out of warranty the Porsche dealer wants almost $3k for the fix. At least that’s what my local dealer wanted. Wish I could get an Indy to shove some foam up by the gas tank for me but something tells me most will want to do a huge job like the dealer.

can confirm, soaking something in a liquid lubricant will not last forever.

Yours sounds like strut towers squeaking over bumps, just from what I can gather. I seem to recall having a similar squeak and lubricating the tops of my front shock towers with white lithium grease under the plastic cover in the front trunk made the noise go away.

Mine sounded different, like a styrofoam cooler under the brake pedal.

Front sway bar bushings had to be replaced (covered under warranty). Have them start there!

Is this a problem limited to 991.1s or have any 991.2 owners experienced this too?

I was out of warranty, you actually don't need to fully drop the tank, just get it close to Empty and once you disconnect the cradle holding the tank it pivots forward just enough for you to shove ANY foam you want up there. I just got some random stuff at home Depot and soaked them in lithium grease for safe measure. It's been over a year and it's quiet. The total repair took me about 2 hours on a lift. WAY easier if you can get access to a lift.
