Default 991.2 question about washing

Just got a new Carrera T. I gave it a first wash today and realized that the air intake grill just behind the rear glass is facing the sky and all the water that gets sprayed there will end up inside the air intake duct. What is the waterflow path? Should I worry about spraying water back there?

The car is meant to be driven in the rain so you should be fine but never force water into any intake area.

There's a drain prior to the airbox.

I'd be more worried about the front of the vehicle when washing, rather than the rear. Those two cutouts in the windshield cowling for the window washer nozzles can let a lot of suds & water into the frunk, and make an awful mess if you aren't careful. The first time I washed mine, I did the normal turning the car into a snow cone with my foam cannon, and followed with generous amounts of water & pressure to rinse. When I thought I was finished, I opened the frunk and found a giant mess of suds and water all over the place in there.

I learned my lesson and now put a big towel in there behind the cutouts to soak all that overflow up without all the mess.

I am glad the new ones no longer have the nozzles for another reason other than they don't look good.

Odd that my 2012 never had 'em. Was it an option?

They all still have the windshield washer nozzles.

Ah, thought you meant the headlight washers.

You're OK...just don't spray a ton of water inside that general area

Don't drive it in the rain. It will show up on Carfax and you risk salvage title status.

My bad, was thinking about headlight washers, which went away on the '19s.

Don’t notice any water in the frunk, just the surrounds of it which is easy to wipe down with a cloth.
