Default GTS steering wheel

How can one tell the difference between the GT sport steering and regular steering on an 18 GTS? I came up short with a search.

Not sure what you mean by functional differences.
They are both wheels, same multifunction, same mode selector. One is simply smaller in diameter than the other.

For what it’s worth I have the smaller GT sport wheel in my GTS...it’s even heated!

And the GT wheel is thicker.

I ask because the GTS I test drove had the GT wheel and it felt right. Now i'm buying a GTS and in the build sheet it only says "steering wheel in leather" so I was thinking its a standard steering wheel but after decoding the vin I find that it is in fact a "GT Sport Steering Wheel" so I think i'm good. Honestly I probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference either way but can't say for sure unless I tried both.

My build sheet shows;
858 GT Sport Steering Wheel (that's what it had on my 2018)

Oddly enough you would be able to tell the difference (even though it's slight on paper it's noticable visually when you sit in the car and certainly when you grip the wheel). Will it ultimately matter in the big picture...likely not as both wheels are perfectly fine. But it's noticable. Just jump into a stock 911 without the GT wheel and you'll know what I mean.

Worst case, you can have the dealership swap it out if they bungled the build.

All .2 GTS have the GT sport steering wheel unless you opt for carbon fiber wheel. The only other options are to get leather wheel (as opposed to alcantara) and to add heating and multifunction.

I actually prefer the non-sport wheel (my Gt3 came with the sport wheel and I swapped for wood).

I believe in Canada the GT Sport Wheel (multifunction and heated) is standard.
