991.1 Drivers door/window wind noise
My 991.1 has had a persistent wind whistle noise from the drivers door / window area since I acquired it a couple years back with approx. 10k miles on it.
The noise is definitely not coming from the side mirror and appears to be from the rear of the window near the B pillar. It is heard only when on the highway above 65 mph and increases dramatically beyond 80-90. Nothing looks out of place alignment wise and there is no visible wear or damage to any of the window or door seals.
I have recently driven other 991's that do not make this noise I assume it's not normal or inherent.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so what was the fix?
Thank you!

I had a similar problem on the passenger side, the window wasn't completely closing when it opens slightly when you open the doors. It would close if I hit the switch. The control module was replaced under warranty.

what vodkag said, there is a thread for I believe 991.2's with this identical noise. Try a little tab of tape on top of the mirror. If it goes away then bingo. Now that I know what is I've tuned it out just like I do the wife.

Where did you put the tape and how is she tolerating it? :-)

I do have PPF on the side mirrors, but I swear that the noise is to the side or slightly behind me rather than where the mirrors are.
I found the link mentioned: https://rennlist.com/forums/991/1096...vers-side.html and it does sound suspiciously similar to my issue.
I'll try some tape and report back. Thank you!

Ha ha.
I shouldn't have said that about the wife. She is a goodern. She paid half on my 911 and bought me a
Motorcycle. She tolerates much.
This sound from the mirror is the only thing not perfect in my 911 life. And to think I almost had the
dealer do an exploratory to diagnose the noise. Glad I did not have them start ripping apart a so far
flawless car. To this point I've resisted the mod madness.

Try resetting your power window, or maybe AWE or Blackmill diffusers (?).

UPDATE: After placing the rubber dot bumpers on the mirrors exactly as described in the thread above I am still experiencing the exact same noise.
After learning that PPF can cause wind noise issues I began focusing my attention to the door handles that also have it installed. I still maintain that the noise is right beside me.
I have tried multiple dots in different areas towards the leading and trailing edges of the handle area to no avail.
Any suggestions ? Has anyone else dealt with the PPF causing wind noise at the door handles?
Thank you!

I have a 2017 c2 that also has this issue. I have taken to dealer (Jim Ellis) and tech rode with me and narrowed noise down to driver side rear quarter window. The pitch of whistle changed as he pushed on the inside of the window. They kept car for two days, still under warranty, and gave me a loaner Macan. Called and said that this was normal and that the 911 is not a quiet car. I am calling BS, it’s not a quiet car but a whistle is annoying and it’s obvious that something is loose/ not sealed correctly and causing this noise

991.1 Turbo S Cab Wind Noise Passenger Side
I had my roof replaced and since then I am getting wind noise at above 70km per hour. Have any of you encountered this problem and what did you do to resolve it.
