SPASM springs for a 991.2 Targa GTS

Gents, question, did you swap stock PASM spring for a SPASM spring and now getting rid of them for a Techart spring? You seem to be implying that your car came with a Sport PASM spring..which you can get with the coupe, but can’t get the SPASM option on targas and cabs. Anyway, why are you swapping the SPASM spring for a Techart ..just curious

I'm on the fence about lowering my .2 GTS with PASM, how much lower will it be with SPASM springs and will the ride quality suffer at? Really don't wanna lose any ride quality as I feel it drives perfect.

No one can answer your question. Yet. I’m not aware of anyone with a .2 Targa who has lowered it to SPASM specs. And for sure a lowered Targa will have different ride characteristics than a lowered “non-Targa”.
Please proceed and report back.

You're going to get a lot of creaking, the chassis has been stiffened in the 992 and you can get SPASM on it - there are pics of the 992 Targa on the ring with the lowered suspension.
You're going to spend a lot lowering the 991.2 and if you need to undo it, you're now at 2x that cost as most dealers will ding you for those types of mods on a trade-In, if you were to go that route.

Probably because the chassis of the cab and Targa are not as strong/rigid as the coupe and Porsche doesn't offer the SPASM because of that. That's the reason they sit higher from the factory also.

Just watched the Motorman video and it makes sense. My car has only 15k km and rattles quite a bit here and there, I cannot imagine how it would be with stiffer suspension.

Ha! Quite impressed that you could reference this video and his comments on this! Tanks for this. I'm calling bull**** on Mr. Hokum the Porsche engineer on the stiffness issue pertaining to creaks and rattles from the stiffer SPASM. I just sold my 2015 Boxster GTS (a convertible) and it had the factory sport suspension that was stiffer and 20mm lower than standard suspension, hence, why would they option it that way if they had these issues in mind? hmmmmm. Anyway, I'll probably keep it stock as it doesn't look too bad with the dreaded wheel gap, but he does bring up a good point. I ordered it with PDCC and rear steering so Im sure the handling will be quite good even w/o the SPASM option....but man would it look sick with the ride height of a GT3!

Wondering if anyone with a Targa GTS ever went with lowering springs and how the ride was? Currently have the DSC controller and makes the car feel almost floaty around town. Wondered if Techart springs would make the ride feel more sporty. Thanks
