I maintain both of my 914s in top condition. wish i had more garage space. One is under a large carport, protected from the elements. The other is in one of our driveways. Both have custom Coverking covers. Recent pix:

Good writeup, glad that 991 found such a good home.

I love the wheels on your 991, how hard are they to keep clean?

Very nice. If you ever need a foster home for any of the P-cars, let me know.

Washed the wheels today for the first time. Very easy to clean... the rounded corners are a breeze to wipe with sponge.

Update: Dealer says they will replace the warped door panels at no cost to me, since this is the eighth Pcar in my collection.

Great news on PCNA covering the door panels... They are quite pricey otherwise and every attempt I've seen to "fix" the warp seems to make things worse...

Seems to be a problem primarily with the 2012 cars, without leather interior, that have lived in a very hot climate. I looked at a 2012 991 several years ago with the identical problem...

Our 2014 Cayman had the same issue. Of course, it was a month out of warranty when we first noticed it. But, the dealer replaced both panels at no charge. Would have been several thousand if we had to pay (if I recall, something like $2,200 each).

I thought this was an interesting pic: my 996 and my 991 in a side-by-side comparison. The differences are noticeable, but rather subtle considering the nearly 10-year span. I really like the lower "meaner" look of the 991.

Great news indeed. And by the way all, it only happens with non-leather door panels.

Here is the gap (how does this compare to other cars?), looking forward to getting the panels replaced!

This one had an attempted "fix" rather than replacement by the dealer...
